Moon Sighting Dua

Upon sighting the crescent of Sha'ban, recite the following supplication: {{arabic}}

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا هِلَالُ شَهْرِ شَعْبَانَ وَقَدْ وَرَدَ وَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْإِحْسَانِ فَاجْعَلْهُ اللَّهُمَّ هِلَالَ بَرَكَاتٍ وَسَعَادَاتٍ كَامِلَةَ الْأَمَانِ وَالْغُفْرَانِ وَالرِّضْوَانِ وَمَاحِيَةَ الْأَخْطَارِ فِي الْأَحْيَانِ وَالْأَزْمَانِ وَحَامِيَةً مِنْ أَذَى أَهْلِ الْعِصْيَانِ وَالْبُهْتَانِ وَشَرِّفْنَا بِامْتِثَالِ مَرَاسِمِهِ وَإِحْيَاءِ مَوَاسِمِهِ وَأَلْحِقْنَا بِشُمُولِ مَرَاحِمِهِ وَمَكَارِمِهِ وَطَهِّرْنَا فِيهِ تَطْهِيراً نَصْلُحُ بِهِ لِلدُّخُولِ عَلَى شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ مُظَفَّرِينَ بِأَفْضَلِ مَا ظَفِرَ بِهِ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ وَالْإِيمَانِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

Allāhumma inna hādhā hilālu shahri sha'bāna wa qad warada wa anta a'lamu bimā fīhi minal iḥsāni faj'alhu Allāhumma hilāla barakātin wa sa'ādātin kāmilatal amāni wal ghufrani war riḍwāni wa māḥiyatal akhṭāri fil aḥyāni wal azmāni wa ḥāmiyatan min adhā ahli al-'iṣyāni wal buhtāni wa sharrifnā bimtithāli marāsimihi wa iḥyā'i mawāsimihi wa alhiqnā bishumūli marāḥimihi wa makārimihi wa ṭahhirnā fīhi taṭhīran naṣluḥu bihi lid dukhūli 'alā shahri ramaḍāna muẓaffarīna bi'afḍali mā ẓafira bihi aḥadun min ahlil islāmi wal īmāni biraḥmatika yā arḥamar rāḥimīn

O Allah, this is the crescent of the month of Sha'ban, and it has appeared. You know its goodness better than we do. Please make it, O Allah, a crescent of blessings and happiness — complete in security, forgiveness, and pleasure — dispelling dangers at all times, and protecting us from the harm of those who disobey and slander. Honor us by fulfilling its rites and reviving its seasons. Include us in its encompassing mercies and generosities. Purify us in it with a purification that makes us worthy of entering the month of Ramadan — victorious with the best of what any of the people of Islam and faith have attained — by Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

12-Rakat Prayer

As mentioned in Iqbal al-A'mal, narrations have referred to many prayers to be offered on the first night of Sha'ban. One of these is a twelve-rakat prayer — offer twelve rakats (six pairs of two, with taslim after each pair). In each rakat: - [Surah al-Fatihah](surah://1) once - [Surah al-Tawhid](surah://112) eleven times

Fasting

Fasting throughout Sha'ban is among the most meritorious acts of this month. Imam Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-Abidin (a.s.) told his companions: "The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) used to observe fast during the whole month of Sha'ban. Therefore, whosoever — in love of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) — wishes to seek nearness to Allah and receive bounties, favours, and rewards in this world and in the Hereafter, must connect Sha'ban with Ramadan in the matter of fasting and special prayers."

Almsgiving

Give alms (sadaqah) in this month, even if it is as small as half a date — it is a rescue from Hellfire. When asked about the best deeds in Sha'ban, Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.) replied: "Almsgiving and seeking forgiveness are the best deeds in Sha'ban. Verily, if anyone of you gives alms in Sha'ban, Almighty Allah will breed that alms in the very same way as you breed your small camels. Hence, this alms will be as huge as Mount Uhud on the Resurrection Day."

Istighfar

Recite each of the following implorations for forgiveness seventy times every day throughout Sha'ban: First form: {{arabic}} Second form: {{arabic}}

اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَاَسْأَلُهُ التَّوْبَةَ|||اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Astaghfirullaha wa as'aluhut tawbah|||Astaghfirullahalla dhi la ilaha illa huwar rahmanur rahim al-hayyul qayyumu wa atubu ilayh

I implore Allah for forgiveness and ask Him for repentance.|||I implore Allah for forgiveness — He besides Whom there is no god, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting — and I repent to Him.

Litany of Tahlil

Repeat the following litany one thousand times in Sha'ban. The reward is equal to worship for one thousand years: {{arabic}}

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَلَا نَعْبُدُ إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ

La ilaha illallahu wa la na'budu illa iyyahu mukhlisina lahud dina wa law karihal mushrikun

There is no god save Allah and we do not worship anyone except Him, making the religion sincerely for Him, even though the polytheists may dislike it.

Recommended Acts

On the birthday of Imam Hussain (a.s.), the following are recommended: 1. Ghusl (ritual bath). 2. Fasting — reported to carry great reward. 3. Abundant Salawat upon the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his Household (a.s.).

Dua for 3rd Sha'ban

Observe fasting and recite the following supplication on the birthday of Imam Hussain (a.s.): {{arabic}}

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ ٱلْمَوْلُودِ فِي هٰذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ بِشَهَادَتِهِ قَبْلَ ٱسْتِهْلالِهِ وَوِلادَتِهِ بَكَتْهُ ٱلسَّمَاءُ وَمَنْ فِيهَا وَٱلأَرْضُ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَلَمَّا يَطَأْ لابَتَيْهَا قَتِيلِ ٱلْعَبْرَةِ وَسَيِّدِ ٱلأُسْرَةِ ٱلْمَمْدُودِ بِٱلنُّصْرَةِ يَوْمَ ٱلْكَرَّةِ ٱلْمُعَوِّضِ مِنْ قَتْلِهِ أَنَّ ٱلأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ نَسْلِهِ وَٱلشِّفَاءَ فِي تُرْبَتِهِ وَٱلْفَوْزَ مَعَهُ فِي أَوْبَتِهِ وَٱلأَوْصِيَاءَ مِنْ عِتْرَتِهِ بَعْدَ قَائِمِهِمْ وَغَيْبَتِهِ حَتَّىٰ يُدْرِكُوٱ ٱلأَوْتَارَ وَيَثْأَرُوٱ ٱلثَّارَ وَيُرْضُوٱ ٱلْجَبَّارَ وَيَكُونُوٱ خَيْرَ أَنْصَارٍ صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مَعَ ٱخْتِلافِ ٱللَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ اَللَّهُمَّ فَبِحَقِّهِمْ إِلَيْكَ أَتَوَسَّلُ وَأَسْأَلُ سُؤَالَ مُقْتَرِفٍ مُعْتَرِفٍ مُسِيءٍ إِلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ مِمَّا فَرَّطَ فِي يَوْمِهِ وَأَمْسِهِ يَسْأَلُكَ ٱلْعِصْمَةَ إِلَىٰ مَحَلِّ رَمْسِهِ اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعِتْرَتِهِ وَٱحْشُرْنَا فِي زُمْرَتِهِ وَبَوِّئْنَا مَعَهُ دَارَ ٱلْكَرَامَةِ وَمَحَلِّ ٱلإِقَامَةِ اَللَّهُمَّ وَكَمَا أَكْرَمْتَنَا بِمَعْرِفَتِهِ فَأَكْرِمْنَا بِزُلْفَتِهِ وَٱرْزُقْنَا مُرَافَقَتَهُ وَسَابِقَتَهُ وَٱجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ يُسَلِّمُ لأَمْرِهِ وَيُكْثِرُ ٱلصَّلاةَ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِهِ وَعَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ أَوْصِيَائِهِ وَأَهْلِ أَصْفِيَائِهِ ٱلْمَمْدُودِينَ مِنْكَ بِٱلْعَدَدِ ٱلإِثْنَيْ عَشَرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ ٱلزُّهَرِ وَٱلْحُجَجِ عَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ ٱلْبَشَرِ اَللَّهُمَّ وَهَبْ لَنَا فِي هٰذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ خَيْرَ مَوْهِبَةٍ وَأَنْجِحْ لَنَا فِيهِ كُلِّ طَلِبَةٍ كَمَا وَهَبْتَ ٱلْحُسَيْنَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ جَدِّهِ وَعَاذَ فُطْرُسُ بِمَهْدِهِ فَنَحْنُ عَائِذُونَ بِقَبْرِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ نَشْهَدُ تُرْبَتَهُ وَنَنْتَظِرُ أَوْبَتَهُ آمِينَ رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

Allāhumma innī as'aluka bihaqqi almawlūdi fī hādhā alyawmi almaw'ūdi bishahādatihi qabla istihlälihi wa wilādatihi bakat-hu alssamā'u wa man fīhā wal-ardu wa man 'alayhā wa lammā yata' lābatayha qatīli al'abrati wa sayyidi al-usrati almamdūdi bilnnusrati yawma alkarrati almu'awwidi min qatlihi anna al-a'immata min naslihi walshshifā'a fī turbatihi walfawza ma'ahu fī awbatihi wal-awsiyā'a min 'itratihi ba'da qā'imihim wa ghaybatihi hattā yudriku al-awtāra wa yath'aru alththāra wa yurdu aljabbāra wa yakūnu khayra ansārin sallallāhu 'alayhim ma'a ikhtilāfi allayli walnnahāri. Allāhumma fabihaqiqihim ilayka atawassalu wa as'alu su'āla muqtarifin mu'tarifin musī'in ilā nafsihi mimmā farrata fī yawmihi wa amsihi yas'aluka al'ismata ilā mahalli ramsihi. Allāhumma fasalli 'alā muhammadin wa 'itratihi wahshurnā fī zumratihi wa bawwi'nā ma'ahu dāra alkarāmati wa mahalla al-iqāmati. Allāhumma wa kamā akramtanā bima'rifatihi fa-akrimna bizulfatihi warzuqnā murāfaqatahu wa sābiqatahu waj'alnā mimman yusallimu li-amrihi wa yukthiru alssalāta 'alayhi 'inda dhikrihi wa 'alā jamī'i awsiyā'ihi wa ahli asfiyā'ihi almamdūdīna minka bil'adadi al-ithnayn 'ashara alnujūmi alzzuhari walhujaji 'alā jamī'i albashari. Allāhumma wa hab lanā fī hādhā alyawmi khayra mawhibatin wa anjih lanā fīhi kulla tālibatin kamā wahabta alhusayna limuhammadin jaddihi wa 'ādha futrusu bimahdihi fanahn 'ā'idhūna biqabrihi min ba'dihi nashhadu turbatahu wa nantaziru awbatahu āmīna rabba al'ālamīn

O Allah, I beseech You in the name of the one born on this day, the promised with martyrdom before the beginning of his lifetime and before his birth — the heavens and all their inhabitants wept for him, and so did the earth and those living on it, before his feet stepped on it. The mourned slain one, the master of the Family of Prophethood, the one who shall be backed with victory on the Day of Return, the one awarded the recompense that the Imams shall be from his offspring, the soil of his grave shall carry cure, and he shall triumph when he returns. The Prophet's Successors from his offspring shall come after the advent of their Rising Imam and after his occultation, to take revenge, please the Omnipotent Lord, and be the best supporters. May Allah's blessings be perpetually upon them whenever night and day succeed each other. O Allah, I thus beg You in their name and implore You with the imploration of a sinful one who confesses his sin and has done evil to himself — beseeching You for Your protection up to the place of his grave. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and his Offspring, include us with his group on the Resurrection Day, and allow us to dwell in the House of Honor with him. As You have honoured us with the knowledge of him, honour us with nearness to him, grant us his companionship, and include us with those who invoke blessings upon him whenever they mention him — and upon all his twelve Successors, the luminous stars and Arguments over all humankind. O Allah, grant us on this day the best of grants and fulfill all our prayers, just as You gifted al-Husayn to Muhammad his grandfather and as the angel Futrus sought refuge at his cradle. We seek refuge at his tomb after him, bearing witness to his soil and awaiting his return. Amen, O Lord of the worlds.

Dua of Imam Hussain (a.s.)

Recite this supplication of Imam Hussain (a.s.) himself: {{arabic}}

اَللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ مُتَعَالِي ٱلْمَكَانِ عَظِيمُ ٱلْجَبَرُوتِ شَدِيدُ ٱلْمِحَالِ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ ٱلْخَلاَئِقِ عَرِيضُ ٱلْكِبْرِيَاءِ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَشَاءُ قَرِيبُ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ صَادِقُ ٱلْوَعْدِ سَابِغُ ٱلنِّعْمَةِ حَسَنُ ٱلْبَلاَءِ قَرِيبٌ إِذَا دُعِيتَ مُحِيطٌ بِمَا خَلَقْتَ قَابِلُ ٱلتَّوْبَةِ لِمَنْ تَابَ إِلَيْكَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰ مَا أَرَدْتَ وَمُدْرِكٌ مَا طَلَبْتَ وَشَكُورٌ إِذَا شُكِرْتَ وَذَكُورٌ إِذَا ذُكِرْتَ أَدْعُوكَ مُحْتَاجاً وَأَرْغَبُ إِلَيْكَ فَقِيراً وَأَفْزَعُ إِلَيْكَ خَائِفاً وَأَبْكِي إِلَيْكَ مَكْرُوباً وَأَسْتَعِينُ بِكَ ضَعِيفاً وَأَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْكَ كَافِياً أُحْكُمْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَرُّونَا وَخَدَعُونَا وَخَذَلُونَا وَغَدَرُوٱ بِنَا وَقَتَلُونَا وَنَحْنُ عِتْرَةُ نَبِيِّكَ وَوَلَدُ حَبِيبِكَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِي ٱصْطَفَيْتَهُ بِٱلرِّسَالَةِ وَٱئْتَمَنْتَهُ عَلَىٰ وَحْيِكَ فَٱجْعَلْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا فَرَجاً وَمَخْرَجاً بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

Allāhumma anta muta'āli almakāni 'azīmu aljabarūti shadīdu almihāli ghaniyyun 'an alkhala'iqi 'arīdu alkibriyā'i qādirun 'alā mā tashā'u qarību alrrahmati sādiqu alwa'di sābighu alnni'mati hasanu albalā'i qarībun idhā du'īta muhītun bimā khalaqta qābilu alttawbati liman tāba ilayka qādirun 'alā mā aradta wa mudrikun mā talabta wa shakūrun idhā shukirta wa dhakūrun idhā dhukirta. Ad'ūka muhtājan wa arghabu ilayka faqīran wa afza'u ilayka khā'ifan wa abkī ilayka makrūban wa asta'īnu bika da'īfan wa atawakkalu 'alayka kāfiyan. Uhkum baynana wa bayna qawminā bilhaqqi fa'innahum gharrūnā wa khada'ūnā wa khadhalūnā wa ghadarū binā wa qatalūnā wa nahnu 'itratu nabiyyika wa waladu habībika muhammadi bni 'abdillāhi alladhī istafaytahu bilrrisālati wa'tamantahu 'alā wahyika faj'al lanā min amrinā farajan wa makhrajan birahmatika yā arhama alrāhimīn

O Allah, You are the Elevated in position, the Magnificent in omnipotence, the Mighty in prowess, the Self-Sufficient from the creatures, the Ample in pride, the Powerful over all that You will, the Close in mercy, the Truthful in promise, the Opulent in favors, the Sympathetic in ordeals, the Nigh when You are called upon, the All-Encompassing of all You have created, the Accepter of repentance, the Powerful over all You intend, the Thankful when thanked, and the Rememberer when remembered. I pray to You for I need You, I desire You for I am in want, I resort to You in fear, I weep before You in distress, I seek Your aid for I am weak, and I depend upon You alone. Decide between our people and us with the truth, for they have deceived us, cheated us, disappointed us, betrayed us, and killed us. We are the progeny of Your Prophet and the sons of Your beloved Muhammad ibn Abdullah, whom You chose for the Divine Mission and entrusted with Your Revelation. So prepare a way out and a relief for us, out of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

2-Rakat Prayer After Isha

Perform 2 rakat of mustahab prayer after the obligatory Isha: - Rakat 1: [Surah al-Hamd](surah://1) + [Surah al-Kafirun](surah://109) - Rakat 2: [Surah al-Hamd](surah://1) + [Surah al-Tawhid](surah://112) After Salam, recite the Tasbih of Fatima Zahra (s.a.): - 33x Subhanallah (سُبْحَانَ اللَّه) - 33x Alhamdulillah (الْحَمْدُ لِلَّه) - 34x Allahu Akbar (اللَّهُ أَكْبَر)

Dua of Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.)

After the 2-rakat prayer and Tasbih of Fatima Zahra (s.a.), recite the following dua taught by Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.): {{arabic}} After completing the dua, perform a sajdah (prostration) and recite: 1. يَا رَبِّ — Ya Rabbi — O My Lord (20 times) 2. يَا اَللهُ — Ya Allah — O Allah (7 times) 3. لا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إلاَّ بِاللّهِ — La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (1 time) 4. مَا شَاءَ اللهُ — Ma sha'Allah (10 times) 5. لا قُوَّةَ إلاَّ بِاللّهِ — La quwwata illa billah (1 time)

يَا مَنْ إلَيْهِ مَلْجَأُ الْعِبَادِ فِي الْمُهِمَّاتِ، وَإلَيْهِ يَفْزَعُ الْخَلْقُ فِي الْمُلِمَّاتِ، يَا عَالِمَ الْجَهْرِ وَالْخَفِيَّاتِ، يَا مَنْ لا تَخْفَى عَلَيْهِ خَوَاطِرُ الأَوْهَامِ وَتَصَرُّفُ الْخَطَرَاتِ، يَارَبَّ الْخَلائِقِ وَالْبَرِيَّاتِ، يَا مَنْ بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ الأَرَضِينَ وَالسَّمَاوَاتِ، أَنْتَ اللّهُ لا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ، أَمُتُّ إلَيْكَ بِلا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ، فَيَا لا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ اجْعَلْنِي فِي هذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ مِمَّنْ نَظَرْتَ إلَيْهِ فَرَحِمْتَهُ، وَسَمِعْتَ دُعَاءَهُ فَأَجَبْتَهُ، وَعَلِمْتَ اسْتِقَالَتَهُ فَأَقَلْتَهُ، وَتَجَاوَزْتَ عَنْ سَالِفِ خَطِيئَتِهِ وَعَظِيمِ جَرِيرَتِهِ، فَقَدِ اسْتَجَرْتُ بِكَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي، وَلَجَأْتُ إلَيْكَ فِي سَتْرِ عُيُوبِي. اللّهُمَّ فَجُدْ عَلَيَّ بِكَرَمِكَ وَفَضلِكَ، وَاحْطُطْ خَطَايَايَ بِحِلْمِكَ وَعَفْوِكَ، وَتَغَمَّدْنِي فِي هذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ بِسَابِغِ كَرَامَتِكَ، وَاجْعَلْنِي فِيهَا مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ الَّذِينَ اجْتَبَيْتَهُمْ لِطَاعَتِكَ، وَاخْتَرْتَهُمْ لِعِبَادَتِكَ، وَجَعَلْتَهُمْ خَالِصَتَكَ وَصِفْوَتَكَ. اللّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ سَعَدَ جَدُّهُ، وَتَوَفَّرَ مِنَ الْخَيْرَاتِ حَظُّهُ، وَاجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ سَلِمَ فَنَعِمَ، وَفَازَ فَغَنِمَ، وَاكْفِنِي شَرَّ مَا أَسْلَفْتُ، وَاعْصِمْنِي مِنَ الإزْدِيَادِ فِي مَعْصِيَتِكَ، وَحَبِّبْ إلَيَّ طَاعَتَكَ وَمَا يُقَرِّبُنِي مِنْكَ وَيُزْلِفُنِي عِنْدَكَ. سَيِّدِي إلَيْكَ يَلْجَأُ الْهَارِبُ، وَمِنْكَ يَلْتَمِسُ الطَّالِبُ، وَعَلَى كَرَمِكَ يُعَوِّلُ الْمُسْتَقِيلُ التَّائِبُ، أَدَّبْتَ عِبَادَكَ بِالتَّكَرُّمِ وَأَنْتَ أَكْرَمُ الأَكْرَمِينَ، وَأَمَرْتَ بِالْعَفْوِ عِبَادَكَ وَأَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ. اللّهُمَّ فَلا تَحْرِمْنِي مَا رَجَوْتُ مِنْ كَرَمِكَ، وَلا تُؤْيِسْنِي مِنْ سَابِغِ نِعَمِكَ، وَلا تُخَيِّبْنِي مِنْ جَزِيلِ قِسَمِكَ فِي هذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ لأهْلِ طَاعَتِكَ، وَاجْعَلْنِي فِي جُنَّةٍ مِنْ شِرَارِ بَرِيَّتِكَ، رَبِّ إنْ لَمْ أَكُنْ مِنْ أَهْلِ ذلِكَ فَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْكَرَمِ وَالْعَفْوِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ، وَجُدْ عَلَيَّ بِمَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ لا بِمَا أَسْتَحِقُّهُ، فَقَدْ حَسُنَ ظَنِّي بِكَ، وَتَحَقَّقَ رَجَائِي لَكَ، وَعَلِقَتْ نَفْسِي بِكَرَمِكَ فَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ، وَأَكْرَمُ الأَكْرَمِينَ. اللّهُمَّ وَاخْصُصْنِي مِنْ كَرَمِكَ بِجَزِيلِ قِسَمِكَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ، وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذَّنْبَ الَّذِي يَحْبِسُ عَلَيَّ الْخُلُقَ، وَيُضَيِّقُ عَلَيَّ الرّزْقَ حَتَّى أَقُومَ بِصَالِحِ رِضَاكَ، وَأَنْعَمَ بِجَزِيلِ عَطَائِكَ، وَأَسْعَدَ بِسَابِغِ نَعْمَائِكَ، فَقَدْ لُذْتُ بِحَرَمِكَ، وَتَعَرَّضْتُ لِكَرَمِكَ، وَاسْتَعَذْتُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ، وَبِحِلْمِكَ مِنْ غَضَبِكَ، فَجُدْ بِمَا سَأَلْتُكَ، وَأَنِلْ مَا الْتَمَسْتُ مِنْكَ، أَسْأَلُكَ بِكَ لا بِشَيْءٍ هُوَ أَعْظَمُ مِنْكَ.

ya man ilayhi malja’u al`ibadi fi almuhimmati wa ilayhi yafza`u alkhalqu fi almulimmati ya `alima aljahri wal-khafiyyati ya man la takhfa `alayhi khawatiru alawhami wa tasarrfu alkhatarati ya rabbi alkhala’iqi wal-bariyyati ya man biyadihi malakutu alaradina wal-ssamawati anta allahu la ilaha illa anta amutt ilayka bila ilaha illa anta faya la ilaha illa anta aj`alny fi hadhihi allaylati mimmn nazarta ilayhi farahimtahu wa sami`ta du`a‘ahu fa-ajabtahu wa `alimta astiqalatahu fa-aqaltahu wa tajawazta `an salifi khatiiatihi wa `azimi jariratihi faqadi astajartu bika min dhunubi wa lajatu ilayka fi satri `uyubi allahumma fajud `alayy bikaramika wa fadlika wahtut khataiaiya bihilmika wa `afwika wa taghammdny fi hadhihi allaylati bisabighi karamatika waj`alny fiha min awlia’ika alladhina ajtabaytahum lita`atika wakhtartahum li`ibadatika wa ja`altahum khalisataka wa sifwataka allahumma aj`alny mimmn sa`ada jadduhu wa tawaffra mina alkhayrati hazzuhu waj`alny mimmn salima fana`ima wa faza faghanima wakfiny sharr ma aslaftu wa`simny mina alazdiadi fi ma`siyatika wa habbib ilayya ta`ataka wa ma yuqarribuny minka wa yuzlifuny `indaka sayyidy ilayka yalja’u alharibu wa minka yaltamisu alttalibu wa `ala karamika yu`awwilu almustaqilu altta’ibu addabta `ibadaka bilttakarrumi wa anta akramu alakramina wa amarta bil`afui `ibadaka wa anta alghafuru alrrahimu allahumma fala tahrimny ma rajawtu min karamika wa la tu´iisny min sabighi ni`amika wa la tukhayybny min jazili qisamika fi hadhihi allaylati liahli ta`atika waj`alny fi junnatin min shirari bariyyatika rabbi in lam akun min ahli dhalika fanta ahlu alkarami wal-`afui wal-maghfirati wa jud `alayya bima anta ahluhu la bima astahiqquhu faqad hasuna zanni bika wa tahaqqaqa rajaiy laka wa `aliqat nafsi bikaramika fa-anta arhamu alrrahimina wa akramu alakramina allahumma wakhsusny min karamika bijazili qisamika wa a`udhu bi`afwika min `uqubatika wa ghfir liya aldhdhanba alladhy yahbisu `alayya alkhuluqa wa yudayyiqu `alayya alrrzqa hatta aquma bisalihi ridaka wa an`ama bijazili `ata’ika wa as`ada bisabighi na`ma’ika faqad ludhtu biharamika wa ta`arradtu likaramika wasta`adhtu bi`afwika min `uqubatika wa bihilmika min ghadabika fajud bima sa-altuka wa anil ma altamastu minka asaluka bika la bishay‘in huwa a`zamu minka

O He to Whom the servants (of Him) resort in urgencies and to Whom the creatures turn in ordeals; O He Who knows the open and the hidden matters; O He from Whom neither the ideas of illusions nor the initiatives of delusions can be concealed; O the Lord of creatures and beings; O He Who grasps the kingdoms of the earth and the heavens; You are verily Allah; there is no god save You; I thus try to connect with you in the name of ‘There is no god save You’ So, O He save Whom there is no god: (please) include me at this night with those at whom You have looked and thus You have mercy upon them; and with those whose prayers have been heard by You and thus You have responded to them; and with those whose true repentance has been admitted by You and thus You have accepted it; and You have thus overlooked their past sins and enormous offenses. verily, I am seeking Your shelter against my sins, and I am resorting to You so that You may conceal my defects. O Allah: (please) bestow lavishly upon me with Your generosity and Favor; and condone my misdeeds out of Your forbearance and pardon, and encompass me, at this night, with Your opulent honoring, and include me at this night with Your intimate servants whom You have selected for obeying You, and whom You have chosen for worshipping You, and whom You have made Your elite and select people. O Allah: (please) make me of those whose efforts are of a happy end, and those whose shares of good things are big, and make me of those who enjoy blissful life as they have been safe (from sins) and those who have been awarded excellently as they have won, and rescue me from the evil consequences of what I have committed, and save me from doing more acts of disobedience to You, and make me love the acts of obedience to You and whatever draws me near You and approaches me toward You. O my Master: a fugitive resorts to none save You, and a needy begs none save You, and only on Your generosity does a repentant, contrite one depends You have disciplined Your servants by means of generosity; and You are verily the most Generous of all those who are generous. and You have instructed Your servants to pardon; and You are verily the All-forgiving, the All-merciful. O Allah: (please) do not deprive me of Your generosity for which I hope, and do not make me despair of Your opulent bounties, and do not disappoint me of Your abundant sustenance that You decide, this night, for those who are obedient to You, and include me with Your protection against Your evil creatures. O my Lord: If I do not deserve so, then You are worthy of acting generously to me, and pardoning and forgiving me, and (please) bestow upon me magnanimously according to that which befits You, not according to what I deserve, verily, I carry an excellent opinion about You, and I do hope for You, and my self is hanged to the rope of Your generosity, for You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy, and You are the most Generous of all those who are generous. O Allah: (please) confer upon me exclusively with an abundant share of what You decide, out of Your generosity, and I seek refuge with Your pardon against Your chastisement, and (please) forgive me the sin that prevents me from enjoying high morals, and suppresses my sustenance, so that I will do that which excellently achieves Your satisfaction and I will enjoy Your profuse granting, and I will be delighted by Your abundant bounties. I am having recourse to Your sanctity, and I am asking for Your generosity, and I am taking shelter in Your pardon against Your punishment, and in Your forbearance against Your ire. So, (please) bestow upon me generously with that which I have asked from You, and confer upon me with that which I have begged from You, I beseech You in Your name, since there is nothing great that You are.

Dua of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)

Recite the following dua as taught by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.):

اللّهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لَنَا مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ مَا يَحُولُ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ مَعْصِيَتِكَ، وَمِنْ طَاعَتِكَ مَا تُبَلِّغُنَا بِهِ رِضْوَانَكَ، وَمِنَ الْيَقِينِ مَا يَهُونُ عَلَيْنَا بِهِ مُصِيبَاتُ الدُّنْيَا. اللّهُمَّ أَمْتِعْنَا بِأَسْمَاعِنَا وَأَبْصَارِنَا وَقُوَّتِنَا مَا أَحْيَيْتَنَا وَاجْعَلْهُ الْوَارِثَ مِنَّا، وَاجْعَلْ ثأْرَنَا عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنَا، وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى مَنْ عَادَانَا، وَلا تَجْعَلْ مُصِيبَتَنَا فِي دِينِنَا، وَلا تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا أَكْبَرَ هَمِّنَا وَلا مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِنَا، وَلا تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيْنَا مَنْ لا يَرْحَمُنَا، بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

allahumma aqsim lana min khashiyatika ma yahulu baynana wa bayna ma`siyatika wa min ta`atika ma tuballghuna bihi ridwanaka wa mina aliyaqini ma yahunu `alayna bihi musibatu alddunya allahumma amti`na biasma`ina wa absarina wa quwwatina ma ahiyaytana waj`alhu alwaritha minna waj`al tharana `ala man zalamana wansurna `ala man `adana wa la taj`al musibatana fi dinina wa la taj`ali alddunya akbara hammna wa la mablagha `ilmina wa la tusallt `alayna man la yarhamuna birahmatika yarhama alrrahimina

O Allah: (please do) grant us an amount of fearfulness of You that prevents us from committing acts of disobedience to You; and an amount of obedience to You that makes us attain Your satisfaction; and an amount of conviction that help us tolerate the vicissitudes of this worldly life. O Allah: (please do) make us enjoy our hearings, sights, and powers so long as You decide to keep us alive; and (please do) make it the inheritor of us. And (please do) make us avenge ourselves against them who wrong us; and back us against them who antagonize us; and do not suffer misfortunes in affairs of our religion; and do not make our worldly affairs happen to be our greatest concern or our utmost knowledge; and do not set him who does not have mercy upon us, as master over us; in the name of Your mercy; O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

Astaghfirullah

Recite one hundred times:

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ

I seek forgiveness from Allah.

Tasbeehaatul Arba'a

Recite one hundred times:

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ وَ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَ اللهُ اَكْبَر

Subhaanallahi wal hamdu lillaahi wa laa ilaaha illallaahu wallaahu akbar

Glory be to Allah, Praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is Great.

Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (a.s.)

Perform Ghusl (ritual bath) with the intention of seeking nearness to Allah on this blessed night. Recite 100 times:

2-Rakat Prayer After Maghrib

اَللهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَظِيْمٌ ذُوْ اَناَةٍ وَلَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا لِحُكْمِكَ يَا اللهُ يَا اللهُ يَا اللهُ اَلْاَمَان اَلْاَمَان اَلْاَمَان مِنَ الطَّاعُوْنِ وَالْوَبَآءِ وَمَوْتِ فَجَعَةٍ وَسُوْءِ الْقَضَآءِ وَشَمَتَتِ الْاَعْدَاءِ رَبَّنَا اكْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ اِنَّا مُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ

allahumma innaka azimun dhu anaatin wa la taqata lana lihukmica ya allahu ya allahu ya allahu al-aman al-aman al-aman min al-taoun wal-wabai wa mawti fajatin wa suil-qadai wa shamatati al-adai rabbana ikshif anna al-adhaba inna muminuna birahmatika ya arham al-rahimin

O Allah, verily You are Sublime, Patient, and give respite — we do not have capacity to withstand conditions under Your authority. O Allah! O Allah! O Allah! Mercy! Mercy! Mercy! From plagues, epidemics, accidental death, evil events, and rejoicing of enemies at our misfortune. O our Lord, take away from us the torment; truly we believe in Your Mercy, O the most Merciful!

2-Rakat Prayer After Isha (Imam Sadiq)

Perform 2 rakat after obligatory Isha: - Rakat 1: [Surah al-Hamd](surah://1) + [Surah al-Kafirun](surah://109) - Rakat 2: [Surah al-Hamd](surah://1) + [Surah al-Tawhid](surah://112) After Salam, recite Tasbih of Fatima Zahra (s.a.): - 33x Subhanallah (سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ) - 33x Alhamdulillah (الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ) - 34x Allahu Akbar (اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ) Then recite the dua taught by Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.): {{arabic}} After completing the dua, perform a sajdah (prostration) and recite: 1. يَا رَبِّ — Ya Rabbi — O My Lord (20 times) 2. يَا اَللهُ — Ya Allah — O Allah (7 times) 3. لا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إلاَّ بِاللّهِ — La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (1 time) 4. مَا شَاءَ اللهُ — Ma sha'Allah (10 times) 5. لا قُوَّةَ إلاَّ بِاللّهِ — La quwwata illa billah (1 time)

يَا مَنْ إلَيْهِ مَلْجَأُ الْعِبَادِ فِي الْمُهِمَّاتِ، وَإلَيْهِ يَفْزَعُ الْخَلْقُ فِي الْمُلِمَّاتِ، يَا عَالِمَ الْجَهْرِ وَالْخَفِيَّاتِ، يَا مَنْ لا تَخْفَى عَلَيْهِ خَوَاطِرُ الأَوْهَامِ وَتَصَرُّفُ الْخَطَرَاتِ، يَارَبَّ الْخَلائِقِ وَالْبَرِيَّاتِ، يَا مَنْ بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ الأَرَضِينَ وَالسَّمَاوَاتِ، أَنْتَ اللّهُ لا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ، أَمُتُّ إلَيْكَ بِلا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ، فَيَا لا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ اجْعَلْنِي فِي هذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ مِمَّنْ نَظَرْتَ إلَيْهِ فَرَحِمْتَهُ، وَسَمِعْتَ دُعَاءَهُ فَأَجَبْتَهُ، وَعَلِمْتَ اسْتِقَالَتَهُ فَأَقَلْتَهُ، وَتَجَاوَزْتَ عَنْ سَالِفِ خَطِيئَتِهِ وَعَظِيمِ جَرِيرَتِهِ، فَقَدِ اسْتَجَرْتُ بِكَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي، وَلَجَأْتُ إلَيْكَ فِي سَتْرِ عُيُوبِي. اللّهُمَّ فَجُدْ عَلَيَّ بِكَرَمِكَ وَفَضلِكَ، وَاحْطُطْ خَطَايَايَ بِحِلْمِكَ وَعَفْوِكَ، وَتَغَمَّدْنِي فِي هذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ بِسَابِغِ كَرَامَتِكَ، وَاجْعَلْنِي فِيهَا مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ الَّذِينَ اجْتَبَيْتَهُمْ لِطَاعَتِكَ، وَاخْتَرْتَهُمْ لِعِبَادَتِكَ، وَجَعَلْتَهُمْ خَالِصَتَكَ وَصِفْوَتَكَ. اللّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ سَعَدَ جَدُّهُ، وَتَوَفَّرَ مِنَ الْخَيْرَاتِ حَظُّهُ، وَاجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ سَلِمَ فَنَعِمَ، وَفَازَ فَغَنِمَ، وَاكْفِنِي شَرَّ مَا أَسْلَفْتُ، وَاعْصِمْنِي مِنَ الإزْدِيَادِ فِي مَعْصِيَتِكَ، وَحَبِّبْ إلَيَّ طَاعَتَكَ وَمَا يُقَرِّبُنِي مِنْكَ وَيُزْلِفُنِي عِنْدَكَ. سَيِّدِي إلَيْكَ يَلْجَأُ الْهَارِبُ، وَمِنْكَ يَلْتَمِسُ الطَّالِبُ، وَعَلَى كَرَمِكَ يُعَوِّلُ الْمُسْتَقِيلُ التَّائِبُ، أَدَّبْتَ عِبَادَكَ بِالتَّكَرُّمِ وَأَنْتَ أَكْرَمُ الأَكْرَمِينَ، وَأَمَرْتَ بِالْعَفْوِ عِبَادَكَ وَأَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ. اللّهُمَّ فَلا تَحْرِمْنِي مَا رَجَوْتُ مِنْ كَرَمِكَ، وَلا تُؤْيِسْنِي مِنْ سَابِغِ نِعَمِكَ، وَلا تُخَيِّبْنِي مِنْ جَزِيلِ قِسَمِكَ فِي هذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ لأهْلِ طَاعَتِكَ، وَاجْعَلْنِي فِي جُنَّةٍ مِنْ شِرَارِ بَرِيَّتِكَ، رَبِّ إنْ لَمْ أَكُنْ مِنْ أَهْلِ ذلِكَ فَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْكَرَمِ وَالْعَفْوِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ، وَجُدْ عَلَيَّ بِمَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ لا بِمَا أَسْتَحِقُّهُ، فَقَدْ حَسُنَ ظَنِّي بِكَ، وَتَحَقَّقَ رَجَائِي لَكَ، وَعَلِقَتْ نَفْسِي بِكَرَمِكَ فَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ، وَأَكْرَمُ الأَكْرَمِينَ. اللّهُمَّ وَاخْصُصْنِي مِنْ كَرَمِكَ بِجَزِيلِ قِسَمِكَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ، وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذَّنْبَ الَّذِي يَحْبِسُ عَلَيَّ الْخُلُقَ، وَيُضَيِّقُ عَلَيَّ الرّزْقَ حَتَّى أَقُومَ بِصَالِحِ رِضَاكَ، وَأَنْعَمَ بِجَزِيلِ عَطَائِكَ، وَأَسْعَدَ بِسَابِغِ نَعْمَائِكَ، فَقَدْ لُذْتُ بِحَرَمِكَ، وَتَعَرَّضْتُ لِكَرَمِكَ، وَاسْتَعَذْتُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ، وَبِحِلْمِكَ مِنْ غَضَبِكَ، فَجُدْ بِمَا سَأَلْتُكَ، وَأَنِلْ مَا الْتَمَسْتُ مِنْكَ، أَسْأَلُكَ بِكَ لا بِشَيْءٍ هُوَ أَعْظَمُ مِنْكَ.

ya man ilayhi malja’u al`ibadi fi almuhimmati wa ilayhi yafza`u alkhalqu fi almulimmati ya `alima aljahri wal-khafiyyati ya man la takhfa `alayhi khawatiru alawhami wa tasarrfu alkhatarati ya rabbi alkhala’iqi wal-bariyyati ya man biyadihi malakutu alaradina wal-ssamawati anta allahu la ilaha illa anta amutt ilayka bila ilaha illa anta faya la ilaha illa anta aj`alny fi hadhihi allaylati mimmn nazarta ilayhi farahimtahu wa sami`ta du`a‘ahu fa-ajabtahu wa `alimta astiqalatahu fa-aqaltahu wa tajawazta `an salifi khatiiatihi wa `azimi jariratihi faqadi astajartu bika min dhunubi wa lajatu ilayka fi satri `uyubi allahumma fajud `alayy bikaramika wa fadlika wahtut khataiaiya bihilmika wa `afwika wa taghammdny fi hadhihi allaylati bisabighi karamatika waj`alny fiha min awlia’ika alladhina ajtabaytahum lita`atika wakhtartahum li`ibadatika wa ja`altahum khalisataka wa sifwataka allahumma aj`alny mimmn sa`ada jadduhu wa tawaffra mina alkhayrati hazzuhu waj`alny mimmn salima fana`ima wa faza faghanima wakfiny sharr ma aslaftu wa`simny mina alazdiadi fi ma`siyatika wa habbib ilayya ta`ataka wa ma yuqarribuny minka wa yuzlifuny `indaka sayyidy ilayka yalja’u alharibu wa minka yaltamisu alttalibu wa `ala karamika yu`awwilu almustaqilu altta’ibu addabta `ibadaka bilttakarrumi wa anta akramu alakramina wa amarta bil`afui `ibadaka wa anta alghafuru alrrahimu allahumma fala tahrimny ma rajawtu min karamika wa la tu´iisny min sabighi ni`amika wa la tukhayybny min jazili qisamika fi hadhihi allaylati liahli ta`atika waj`alny fi junnatin min shirari bariyyatika rabbi in lam akun min ahli dhalika fanta ahlu alkarami wal-`afui wal-maghfirati wa jud `alayya bima anta ahluhu la bima astahiqquhu faqad hasuna zanni bika wa tahaqqaqa rajaiy laka wa `aliqat nafsi bikaramika fa-anta arhamu alrrahimina wa akramu alakramina allahumma wakhsusny min karamika bijazili qisamika wa a`udhu bi`afwika min `uqubatika wa ghfir liya aldhdhanba alladhy yahbisu `alayya alkhuluqa wa yudayyiqu `alayya alrrzqa hatta aquma bisalihi ridaka wa an`ama bijazili `ata’ika wa as`ada bisabighi na`ma’ika faqad ludhtu biharamika wa ta`arradtu likaramika wasta`adhtu bi`afwika min `uqubatika wa bihilmika min ghadabika fajud bima sa-altuka wa anil ma altamastu minka asaluka bika la bishay‘in huwa a`zamu minka

O He to Whom the servants (of Him) resort in urgencies and to Whom the creatures turn in ordeals; O He Who knows the open and the hidden matters; O He from Whom neither the ideas of illusions nor the initiatives of delusions can be concealed; O the Lord of creatures and beings; O He Who grasps the kingdoms of the earth and the heavens; You are verily Allah; there is no god save You; I thus try to connect with you in the name of ‘There is no god save You’ So, O He save Whom there is no god: (please) include me at this night with those at whom You have looked and thus You have mercy upon them; and with those whose prayers have been heard by You and thus You have responded to them; and with those whose true repentance has been admitted by You and thus You have accepted it; and You have thus overlooked their past sins and enormous offenses. verily, I am seeking Your shelter against my sins, and I am resorting to You so that You may conceal my defects. O Allah: (please) bestow lavishly upon me with Your generosity and Favor; and condone my misdeeds out of Your forbearance and pardon, and encompass me, at this night, with Your opulent honoring, and include me at this night with Your intimate servants whom You have selected for obeying You, and whom You have chosen for worshipping You, and whom You have made Your elite and select people. O Allah: (please) make me of those whose efforts are of a happy end, and those whose shares of good things are big, and make me of those who enjoy blissful life as they have been safe (from sins) and those who have been awarded excellently as they have won, and rescue me from the evil consequences of what I have committed, and save me from doing more acts of disobedience to You, and make me love the acts of obedience to You and whatever draws me near You and approaches me toward You. O my Master: a fugitive resorts to none save You, and a needy begs none save You, and only on Your generosity does a repentant, contrite one depends You have disciplined Your servants by means of generosity; and You are verily the most Generous of all those who are generous. and You have instructed Your servants to pardon; and You are verily the All-forgiving, the All-merciful. O Allah: (please) do not deprive me of Your generosity for which I hope, and do not make me despair of Your opulent bounties, and do not disappoint me of Your abundant sustenance that You decide, this night, for those who are obedient to You, and include me with Your protection against Your evil creatures. O my Lord: If I do not deserve so, then You are worthy of acting generously to me, and pardoning and forgiving me, and (please) bestow upon me magnanimously according to that which befits You, not according to what I deserve, verily, I carry an excellent opinion about You, and I do hope for You, and my self is hanged to the rope of Your generosity, for You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy, and You are the most Generous of all those who are generous. O Allah: (please) confer upon me exclusively with an abundant share of what You decide, out of Your generosity, and I seek refuge with Your pardon against Your chastisement, and (please) forgive me the sin that prevents me from enjoying high morals, and suppresses my sustenance, so that I will do that which excellently achieves Your satisfaction and I will enjoy Your profuse granting, and I will be delighted by Your abundant bounties. I am having recourse to Your sanctity, and I am asking for Your generosity, and I am taking shelter in Your pardon against Your punishment, and in Your forbearance against Your ire. So, (please) bestow upon me generously with that which I have asked from You, and confer upon me with that which I have begged from You, I beseech You in Your name, since there is nothing great that You are.

Dua to Welcome Birth of Imam Mahdi (ajtf)

Recite the following dua to welcome the birth of Imam al-Mahdi (ajtf):

اللّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ لَيْلَتِنَا هذِهِ وَمَوْلُودِهَا وَحُجَّتِكَ وَمَوْعُودِهَا، الَّتِي قَرَنْتَ إلَى فَضْلِهَا فَضْلاً، فَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُكَ صِدْقاً وَعَدْلاً، لا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَاتِكَ، وَلا مُعَقِّبَ لآيَاتِكَ، نُورُكَ الْمُتَأَلِّقُ، وَضِيَاؤُكَ الْمُشْرِقُ، وَالْعَلَمُ النُّورُ فِي طَخْيَاءِ الدَّيْجُورِ، الْغَائِبُ الْمَسْتُورُ جَلَّ مَوْلِدُهُ، وَكَرُمَ مَحْتِدُهُ، وَالْمَلائِكَةُ شُهَّدُهُ، وَاللّهُ نَاصِرُهُ وَمُؤَيِّدُهُ، إذَا آنَ مِيعَادُهُ وَالْمَلائِكَةُ أَمْدَادُهُ، سَيْفُ اللّهِ الَّذِي لا يَنْبُو، وَنُورُهُ الَّذِي لا يَخْبُو، وَذُو الْحِلْمِ الَّذِي لا يَصْبُو، مَدَارُ الدَّهْرِ، وَنَوَامِيسُ الْعَصْرِ، وَوُلاةُ الأَمْرِ، وَالْمُنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمْ مَا يَتَنَزَّلُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ، وَأَصْحَابُ الْحَشْرِ وَالنَّشْرِ، تَرَاجِمَةُ وَحْيِهِ، وَوُلاةُ أَمْرِهِ وَنَهْيِهِ. اللّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى خَاتِمِهِمْ وَقَائِمِهِمُ الْمَسْتُورِ عَنْ عَوَالِمِهِمْ. اللّهُمَّ وَأَدْرِكْ بِنَا أَيَّامَهُ وَظُهُورَهُ وَقِيَامَهُ، وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْ أَنْصَارِهِ، وَاقْرِنْ ثأْرَنَا بِثَأْرِهِ، وَاكْتُبْنَا فِي أَعْوَانِهِ وَخُلَصَائِهِ، وَأَحْيِنَا فِي دَوْلَتِهِ نَاعِمِينَ، وَبِصُحْبَتِهِ غَانِمِينَ، وَبِحَقِّهِ قَائِمِينَ، وَمِنَ السُّوءِ سَالِمِينَ، يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، وَصَلَوَاتُهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ وَعَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الصَّادِقِينَ وَعِتْرَتِهِ النَّاطِقِينَ، وَالْعَنْ جَمِيعَ الظَّالِمِينَ، وَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمْ يَا أَحْكَمَ الْحَاكِمِينَ.

allahumma bihaqqi laylatina hadhihi wa mawludiha wa hujjtika wa maw`udiha allaty qaranta ila fadliha fadlan fatammt kalimatuka sidqan wa `adlan la mubaddla likalimatika wa la mu`aqqba li-ayatika nuruka almutalliqu wa diau´uka almushriqu wal-`alamu alnnuru fi takhya‘i alddayjuri algha’ibu almasturu jalla mawliduhu wa karuma mahtiduhu wal-mala’ikatu shuhhaduhu wallahu nasiruhu wa mu´ayyduhu idha ana mi`aduhu wal-mala’ikatu amdaduhu sayfu allahi alladhy la yanbu wa nuruhu alladhy la yakhbu wa dhu alhilmi alladhy la yasbu madaru alddhri wa nawamisu al`asri wa wulatu alamri wal-munazzalu `alayhim ma yatanazzalu fi laylati alqadri wa ashabu alhashri wal-nnashri tarajimatu wahyihi wa wulatu amrihi wa nahiihi allahumma fasalli `ala khatimihim wa qa’imihim almasturi `an `awalimihim allahumma wa adrik bina ayyamahu wa zuhurahu wa qiyamahu waj`alna min ansarihi waqrin tha’rana bitha’rihi waktubna fi a`wanihi wa khulasa’ihi wa ahiina fi dawlatihi na`imina wa bisuhbatihi ghanimina wa bihaqqhi qa’imina wa mina alssu‘I salimina ya arhama alrrahimina walhamdu lillahi rabbi al`alamina wa salawatuhu `ala sayydina muhammadin khatami alnnabiyyina wal-mursalina wa `ala ahli baytihi alssadiqina wa `itratihi alnnatiqina wal-`an jami`a alzzalimina wahkum baynana wa baynahum ya ahkama alhakimina

O Allah: I beseech You in the name of this night and in the name of him whom was born at it and in the name of Your Argument and in the name of Your promise in it, the night that You have added a new merit to its many merits So, Your Word has been accomplished truly and fairly; no one can change Your words, nor obscure Your signs, (He is) Your glowing Light and Your bring splendor and the luminous sign in the obscurity of darkness and the absent and the concealed, Lofty is his birth and noble is his lineage and the angels are his witnesses and Allah is his Supporter and Backer when his time comes and the angels shall be his sponsors; (He shall act as) the sword of Allah that shall never miss the target, and His light that shall never be extinguished And the forbearing person who shall never deviate the truth. and the motive and reason of the course of events, and the one for whom the laws of ages have been made and (one of) the men of authority who receive that which is revealed on the Grand Night. and the managers of the Resurrection and the Account; (They are) the interpreters of His revelations and in charge of what is deemed lawful and what is deemed unlawful by Him. O Allah: send blessings on their seal and their Riser whom is hidden from their world. O Allah: (please) make us causes for the coming of him, and causes for his advent and reappearance and (please) include us with his supporters and join our vengeance to his and decide us to be among his assistants and retinue. and make us live in bliss in his reign, and make us win the ecstasy of his companionship, and make us of those who carry out our duty toward him, and save us from evil. O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy. All praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. His blessings be upon our master, Muhammad the seal of the Prophets and the Messengers, and upon his Household, the veracious, and his offspring, the spokespersons of the truth, and curse all the wrongdoers and judge between them and us O the Most Just of all judges.

Dua of Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.)

Recite the following dua as taught by Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.):

اللّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ الْخَالِقُ الرَّازِقُ الْمُحْيِي الْمُمِيتُ الْبَدِيءُ الْبَدِيعُ، لَكَ الْجَلالُ، وَلَكَ الْفَضْلُ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ، وَلَكَ الْمَنُّ، وَلَكَ الْجُودُ، وَلَكَ الْكَرَمُ، وَلَكَ الأَمْرُ، وَلَكَ الْمَجْدُ، وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ، وَحْدَكَ لا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، يَا وَاحِدُ يَا أَحَدُ يَا صَمَدُ يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ، صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَاكْفِنِي مَا أَهَمَّنِي وَاقْضِ دَيْنِي، وَوَسِّعْ عَلَيَّ فِي رِزْقِي، فَإنَّكَ فِي هذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ كُلَّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ تَفْرُقُ، وَمَنْ تَشَاءُ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ تَرْزُقُ، فَارْزُقْنِي وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ، فَإنَّكَ قُلْتَ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْقَائِلِينَ النَّاطِقِينَ: (وَاسْأَلُوَا اللّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ) فَمِنْ فَضْلِكَ أَسْأَلُ، وَإيَّاكَ قَصَدْتُ، وَابْنَ نَبِيِّكَ اعْتَمَدْتُ، وَلَكَ رَجَوْتُ، فَارْحَمْنِي يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

allahumma anta alhayyu alqayyumu al`aliyyu al`azimu alkhaliqu alrraziqu almuhiy almumitu albadi‘u albadi`u laka aljalalu wa laka alfadlu wa laka alhamdu wa laka almann wa laka aljudu wa laka alkaramu wa laka alamru wa laka almajdu wa laka alshshkru wa hdaka la sharika laka ya wahidu ya ahadu ya samadu ya man lam yalid wa lam yulad wa lam yakun lahu kufwan ahadun salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin waghfir li warhamny wakfiny ma ahammany waqdi dayni wa wassi` `alayy fi rizqi fa’innaka fi hadhihi allaylati kull amrin hakimin tafruqu wa man tasha‘u min khalqika tarzuqu farzuqny wa anta khayru alrraziqina fa’innaka qulta wa anta khayru alqa’ilina alnnatiqina: “was-alu allaha min fadlihi” famin fadlika as-alu wa ‘iyyaka qasadtu wabna nabiyyka a`tamadtu wa laka rajawtu farhamny ya arhama alrrahimina

O Allah: You are verily the Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting, the Most High, the All-great, the Creator, the Sustainer, the Giver of live, the Causer of death, the Originator, the Maker. To You is the Majesty and to You is the favor, and to You is all praise, and to You is thanks, and to You is magnanimity, and to You is generosity, and to You do belong all affairs, and to You is glory, and to You is gratitude; You are alone without having any partner with You. O the One: O the Absolute: O the Besought of all: O He Who neither begets nor is He begotten, and there is none like to Him. (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and forgive me; and have mercy upon me; and relieve me from whatever has aggrieved me; and help me settle my debt; and expand my provisions; for You, at this night, make distinct all affairs of wisdom; and You grant sustenance to whomever You wish among Your creatures. So, (please do) grant me sustenance and You are verily the Best of sustainers. You have said—and You are the Best of those who speak and utter— “Ask Allah of His bounty.” I thus ask You of Your bounty; and to You do I turn my face; and the intercession of Your Prophet’s son do I seek; and for You do I hope. So, (please do) have mercy upon me; O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

Dua of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)

Recite the following dua as taught by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.):

اللّهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لَنَا مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ مَا يَحُولُ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ مَعْصِيَتِكَ، وَمِنْ طَاعَتِكَ مَا تُبَلِّغُنَا بِهِ رِضْوَانَكَ، وَمِنَ الْيَقِينِ مَا يَهُونُ عَلَيْنَا بِهِ مُصِيبَاتُ الدُّنْيَا. اللّهُمَّ أَمْتِعْنَا بِأَسْمَاعِنَا وَأَبْصَارِنَا وَقُوَّتِنَا مَا أَحْيَيْتَنَا وَاجْعَلْهُ الْوَارِثَ مِنَّا، وَاجْعَلْ ثأْرَنَا عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنَا، وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى مَنْ عَادَانَا، وَلا تَجْعَلْ مُصِيبَتَنَا فِي دِينِنَا، وَلا تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا أَكْبَرَ هَمِّنَا وَلا مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِنَا، وَلا تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيْنَا مَنْ لا يَرْحَمُنَا، بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

allahumma aqsim lana min khashiyatika ma yahulu baynana wa bayna ma`siyatika wa min ta`atika ma tuballghuna bihi ridwanaka wa mina aliyaqini ma yahunu `alayna bihi musibatu alddunya allahumma amti`na biasma`ina wa absarina wa quwwatina ma ahiyaytana waj`alhu alwaritha minna waj`al tharana `ala man zalamana wansurna `ala man `adana wa la taj`al musibatana fi dinina wa la taj`ali alddunya akbara hammna wa la mablagha `ilmina wa la tusallt `alayna man la yarhamuna birahmatika yarhama alrrahimina

O Allah: (please do) grant us an amount of fearfulness of You that prevents us from committing acts of disobedience to You; and an amount of obedience to You that makes us attain Your satisfaction; and an amount of conviction that help us tolerate the vicissitudes of this worldly life. O Allah: (please do) make us enjoy our hearings, sights, and powers so long as You decide to keep us alive; and (please do) make it the inheritor of us. And (please do) make us avenge ourselves against them who wrong us; and back us against them who antagonize us; and do not suffer misfortunes in affairs of our religion; and do not make our worldly affairs happen to be our greatest concern or our utmost knowledge; and do not set him who does not have mercy upon us, as master over us; in the name of Your mercy; O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

4-Rakat Prayer (Imam al-Baqir & Imam al-Sadiq)

Perform 4 rakat — each rakat: [Surah al-Hamd](surah://1) + [Surah al-Ikhlas](surah://112) x 100 After completing all 4 rakat, recite the following dua:

اللّهُمَّ إنِّي إلَيْكَ فَقِيرٌ وَمِنْ عَذَابِكَ خَائِفٌ مُسْتَجِيرٌ اللّهُمَّ لا تُبَدِّلِ اسْمِي وَلا تُغَيِّرْ جِسْمِي وَلا تَجْهَدْ بَلائِي وَلا تُشْمِتْ بِي أَعْدَائِي أَعُوذُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ عِقَابِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُكَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ وَفَوْقَ مَا يَقُولُ الْقَائِلُونَ

allahumma inni ilayka faqirun wa min adhabika khaifun mustajirun allahumma la tubaddil ismi wa la tughayyir jismi wa la tajhad balai wa la tushmit bi adai audhu biafwika min iqabika wa audhu birahmatika min adhabika wa audhu biridaka min sakhatika wa audhu bika minka jalla thanaouka anta kama athnayta ala nafsika wa fawqa ma yaqulu alqailun

O Allah, I am in need of You, and I am fearful of Your chastisement and seek Your shelter. O Allah, do not erase my name, do not change my body, do not increase my ordeals, and do not make my enemies rejoice at my misfortune. I resort to Your pardon against Your punishment, to Your mercy against Your chastisement, to Your pleasure against Your wrath, and to You from You. Enormous be Your praise — You are as You have praised Yourself, and above all that is said about You.

Recitation of Surah Yasin

Recite [Surah Yasin](surah://36) three times: - First recitation — with the intention of long life - Second recitation — with the intention of prosperity and sustenance - Third recitation — with the intention of safety and protection Then recite 21 times:

اللهم إنك عليم حليم ذو أناةٍ ولا طاقة لنا بحكمك يا الله يا الله يا الله الأمان الأمان الأمان من الطاعون والوباء وموت الفجأة وسوء القضاء وشماتة الأعداء ربنا اكشف عنا العذاب إنا مؤمنون برحمتك يا أرحم الراحمين

Allahumma innaka alimun haleemun dhu anaatin, wa laa taqata lana bi-hukmika, ya Allah ya Allah ya Allah, al-amaan al-amaan al-amaan, minat-ta'ooni wal-waba-i wa mawti-l-faj-ati wa soo-il-qadaa-i wa shamatatil-a'daa-i, Rabbanak-shif anna-l-adhaab, inna mu'minoona bi-rahmatika ya Arhamar-Rahimeen

O Allah, You are All-knowing, Most Forbearing, Owner of respite; we have no power to withstand Your decree. O Allah! O Allah! O Allah! Grant us safety — safety — safety from plague, epidemic, sudden death, evil fate, and the mockery of enemies. Our Lord, remove the punishment from us; indeed we are believers in Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

According to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), it is desirable to pray 100 rakat tonight in 50 sets of 2 rakat each: - Each rakat: [Surah al-Hamd](surah://1) + [Surah al-Ikhlas](surah://112) x 10 After the prayer, recite: - [Ayat al-Kursi](dua://ayat-kursi) x 10 - [Surah al-Hamd](surah://1) x 10 - Subhanallah x 100 According to Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.), it is desirable to pray 6 rakat tonight in 3 sets of 2 rakat each: - Each rakat: [Surah al-Hamd](surah://1) + [Surah Yasin](surah://36) + [Surah al-Mulk](surah://67) + [Surah al-Ikhlas](surah://112)

On the birthday of Imam al-Mahdi (ajtf), from Mafatih al-Jinan: 1. Ghusl (ritual bath). 2. Fasting — highly recommended on this blessed day. 3. Visit Imam al-Mahdi (ajtf) — it is recommended to visit him at each time and place and to pray to Allah for hastening his advent. His [Ziyarat at the Sirdab](dua://ziyarat-imam-mahdi-sirdab) in Samarra is especially favored. 4. Pray for his reappearance and recite Salawat abundantly.
