Dua Ahad
<b>Supplication of Allegiance (Ahad) to Imam Mahdi (ajtfs)</b><hr> Imam Sadiq (a.s) narrates that “one who recites this supplication for 40 mornings; he will be accounted amongst the helpers of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s). And if he happens to die before the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s), Allah will raise him up from his grave so that he may assist the holy Imam (a.t.f.s). For every word that he recites in this supplication, Allah will grant him 1000 good deeds and will erase from his scroll of deeds 1000 sins”. As the title suggests, this supplication is of allegiance (ahad) to the holy Imam (a.t.f.s). Its recitation every morning ensures the renewal of this covenant as taught by Imam Ali ibne Abi Talib (as)
اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ ٱلنُّورِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
allahumma rabba alnnuri al`azimi
O Allah the Lord of the Great Light,
وَرَبَّ ٱلْكُرْسِيِّ ٱلرَّفِيعِ
wa rabba alkursiyyi alrrafi`i
the Lord of the Elevated Throne,
وَرَبَّ ٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ
wa rabba albahri almasjuri
the Lord of the swollen ocean,
وَمُنْزِلَ ٱلتَّوْرَاةِ وَٱلإِنْجِيلِ وَٱلزَّبُورِ
wa munzila alttawrati wal-injili wallzzaburi
the Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Psalms,
وَرَبَّ ٱلظِّلِّ وَٱلْحَرُورِ
wa rabba alzzilli walharuri
the Lord of shade and heat,
وَمُنْزِلَ ٱلْقُرْآنِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
wa munzila alqur'ani al`azimi
the Revealer of the Great Qur'an,
وَرَبَّ ٱلْمَلاَئِكَةِ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
wa rabba almala'ikati almuqarrabina
and the Lord of the Archangels,
وَٱلأَنْبِيَاءِ وَٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
wal-anbiya'i walmursalina
the Prophets, and the Messengers:
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِٱسْمِكَ ٱلْكَرِيـمِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bismika alkarimi
O Allah, I beseech You in Your Noble Name,
وَبِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ ٱلْمُنِيرِ
wa binuri wajhika almuniri
in the Light of Your Luminous Face
وَمُلْكِكَ ٱلْقَدِيمِ
wa mulkika alqadimi
and Your Eternal Kingdom.
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ
ya hayyu ya qayyumu
O Ever-living! O Self-Subsistent!
أَسْأَلُكَ بِٱسْمِكَ ٱلَّذِي أَشْرَقَتْ بِهِ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتُ وَٱلأَرَضُونَ
as'aluka bismika alladhi ashraqat bihi alssamawatu wal-araduna
I beseech You in the name of Your Name with which the heavens and the earth have lit up
وَبِٱسْمِكَ ٱلَّذِي يَصْلَحُ بِهِ ٱلأَوَّلُونَ وَٱلآخِرُونَ
wa bismika alladhi yasluhu bihi al-awwaluna wal-akhiruna
and in Your Name with which the past and the coming generations have become upright!
يَا حَيّاً قَبْلَ كُلِّ حَيٍّ
ya hayyan qabla kulli hayyin
O He Who has been always alive before the existence of all living things!
وَيَا حَيّاً بَعْدَ كُلِّ حَيٍّ
wa ya hayyan ba`da kulli hayyin
O He Who shall be alive after the extinction of all living things!
وَيَا حَيّاً حِينَ لا حَيُّ
wa ya hayyan hina la hayyu
O He Who has been always alive even when there was nothing else alive!
يَا مُحْيِيَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَمُمِيتَ ٱلأَحْيَاءِ
ya muhyiya almawta wa mumita al-ahya'i
O He Who revives the dead ones and causes the living ones to die!
يَا حَيُّ لا إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
ya hayyu la ilaha illa anta
O Ever-living! There is no god save You.
اَللَّهُمَّ بَلِّغْ مَوْلاَنَا ٱلإِمَامَ ٱلْهَادِيَ ٱلْمَهْدِيَّ ٱلْقَائِمَ بِأَمْرِكَ
allahumma balligh mawlana al-imama alhadiya almahdiyya alqa'ima bi'amrika
O Allah, convey to our master Imam al-Mahdi, the guide who is to undertake Your orders,
صَلَوَاتُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰ آبَائِهِ ٱلطَّاهِرِينَ
salawatu allahi `alayhi wa `ala aba'ihi alttahirina
may Allah’s blessings be upon him and upon his immaculate fathers,
عَنْ جَمِيعِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ
`an jami`i almu'minina walmu'minati
on behalf of all of the believing men and women
فِي مَشَارِقِ ٱلأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبِهَا
fi mashariqi al-ardi wa magharibiha
in the east and west of the earth
سَهْلِهَا وَجَبَلِهَا
sahliha wa jabaliha
and in plains, mountains,
وَبَرِّهَا وَبَحْرِهَا
wa barriha wa bahriha
lands, and seas,
وَعَنِّي وَعَنْ وَالِدَيَّ
wa `anni wa `an walidayya
and on behalf of my parents
مِنَ ٱلصَّلَوَاتِ زِنَةَ عَرْشِ ٱللَّهِ
min alssalawati zinata `arshi allahi
(convey to him) blessings that are as weighty as Allah’s Throne,
وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ
wa midada kalimatihi
as much as the ink of His Words,
وَمَا أَحْصَاهُ عِلْمُهُ وَأَحَاطَ بِهِ كِتَابُهُ
wa ma ahsahu `ilmuhu wa ahata bihi kitabuhu
and as many as that which is counted by His knowledge and encompassed by His Book.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُجَدِّدُ لَهُ فِي صَبِيحَةِ يَوْمِي هٰذَا
allahumma inni ujaddidu lahu fi sabihati yawmi hadha
O Allah, I update to him in the beginning of this day
وَمَا عِشْتُ مِنْ أَيَّامِي
wa ma `ishtu min ayyami
and throughout the days of lifetime a pledge,
عَهْداً وَعَقْداً وَبَيْعَةً لَهُ فِي عُنُقِي
`ahdan wa `aqdan wa bay`atan lahu fi `unuqi
a covenant, and allegiance to which I commit myself
لا أَحُولُ عنها وَلا أَزُولُ أَبَداً
la ahulu `anhu wa la azulu abadan
and from which I neither convert nor change.
اَللَّهُمَّ ٱجْعَلْنِي مِنْ أَنْصَارِهِ
allahumma ij`alni min ansarihi
O Allah, (please do) make me of his supporters,
وَأَعْوَانِهِ وَٱلذَّابِّينَ عَنْهُ
wa a`wanihi waldhdhabbina `anhu
sponsors, defenders,
وَٱلْمُسَارِعِينَ إِلَيْهِ فِي قَضَاءِ حَوَائِجِهِ
walmusari`ina ilayhi fi qada'i hawa'ijihi
and those who hurry in carrying out his instructions,
وَٱلْمُمْتَثِلِينَ لأَوَامِرِهِ
walmumtathilina li'awamirihi
those who comply with his orders,
وَٱلْمُحَامِينَ عَنْهُ
walmuhamina `anhu
those who uphold him,
وَٱلسَّابِقِينَ إِلَىٰ إِرَادَتِهِ
walssabiqina ila iradatihi
those who precede others to implementing his will,
وَٱلْمُسْتَشْهَدِينَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ
walmustashhadina bayna yadayhi
and those who will be martyred before him.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنْ حَالَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ ٱلْمَوْتُ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلْتَهُ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ حَتْماً مَقْضِيّاً
allahumma in hala bayni wa baynahu almawtu alladhi ja`altahu `ala `ibadika hatman maqdiyyan
O Allah, if death that You have made inevitably and certainly incumbent upon Your servants stands between me and him,
فَأَخْرِجْنِي مِنْ قَبْرِي مُؤْتَزِراً كَفَنِي
fa'akhrijni min qabri mu'taziran kafani
then (please do) take me out of my grave using my shroud as dress,
شَاهِراً سَيْفِي
sharihan sayfi
unsheathing my sword,
مُجَرِّداً قَنَاتِي
mujarridan qanati
holding my lance in my hand,
مُلَبِّياً دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِي فِي ٱلْحَاضِرِ وَٱلْبَادِي
mulabbiyan da`wata aldda`i filhadiri walbadi
and responding to the call of the Caller who shall announce (his advent) in urban areas and deserts.
اَللَّهُمَّ أَرِنِي ٱلطَّلْعَةَ ٱلرَّشِيدَةَ
allahumma arini alttal`ata alrrashidata
O Allah, (please do) show me his magnificent mien
وَٱلْغُرَّةَ ٱلْحَمِيدَةَ
walghurrata alhamidata
and his praiseworthy forehead,
وَٱكْحُلْ نَاظِرِي بِنَظْرَةٍ مِنِّي إِلَيْهِ
wakhul naziri binazratin minni ilayhi
delight my eyes by letting me have a look at him.
وَعَجِّلْ فَرَجَهُ
wa `ajjil farajahu
And (please) expedite his relief,
وَسَهِّلْ مَخْرَجَهُ
wa sahhil makhrajahu
make his reappearance easy,
وَأَوْسِعْ مَنْهَجَهُ
wa awsi` manhajahu
clear a spacious space for him,
وَٱسْلُكْ بِي مَحَجَّتَهُ
wasluk bi muhajjatahu
guide me to follow his course,
وَأَنْفِذْ أَمْرَهُ
wa anfidh amrahu
give success to his issues,
وَٱشْدُدْ أَزْرَهُ
washdud azrahu
and confirm his strength.
وَٱعْمُرِ ٱللَّهُمَّ بِهِ بِلادَكَ
wa`mur allahumma bihi biladaka
O Allah, construct Your lands through him
وَأَحْيِ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ
wa ahyi bihi `ibadaka
and refresh Your servants through him,
فَإِنَّكَ قُلْتَ وَقَوْلُكَ ٱلْحَقُّ:
fa'innaka qulta wa qawluka alhaqqu
For You have said, and true are Your words:
«ظَهَرَ ٱلْفَسَادُ فِي ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ
zahara alfasadu filbarri walbahri
“Corruption has appeared in the land and the sea
بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِي ٱلنَّاسِ.»
bima kasabat aydi alnnasi
on account of what the hands of men have wrought.”
فَأَظْهِرِ ٱللَّهُمَّ لَنَا وَلِيَّكَ
fa'azhir allahumma lana waliyyaka
So, O Allah, (please) show us Your vicegerent,
وَٱبْنَ بِنْتِ نَبِيِّكَ
wabna binti nabiyyika
the son of Your Prophet,
ٱلْمُسَمَّىٰ بِٱسْمِ رَسُولِكَ
almusamma bismi rasulika
and the namesake of Your Messenger,
صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ
salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi
peace be upon him and his Household,
حَتَّىٰ لا يَظْفَرَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ ٱلْبَاطِلِ إِلاَّ مَزَّقَهُ
hatta la yazfara bishay'in min albatili illa mazzaqahu
so that he shall tear up any wrong item that he will face
وَيُحِقُّ ٱلْحَقَّ وَيُحَقِّقَهُ وَٱجْعَلْهُ
wa yahiqqa alhaqqa wa yuhaqqiqahu waj`alhu
and shall confirm and approve of the truth.
ٱللَّهُمَّ مَفْزَعاً لِمَظْلُومِ عِبَادِكَ
allahumma mafza`an limazlumi `ibadika
O Allah, (please) make him the shelter to whom Your wronged servants shall resort,
وَنَاصِراً لِمَنْ لا يَجِدُ لَهُ نَاصِراً غَيْرَكَ
wa nasiran liman la yajidu lahu nasiran ghayraka
the supporter of those who cannot find any supporter save You,
وَمُجَدِّداً لِمَا عُطِّلَ مِنْ أَحْكَامِ كِتَابِكَ
wa mujaddidan lima `uttila min ahkami kitabika
the reviver of the laws of Your Book that have been suspended,
وَمُشَيِّداً لِمَا وَرَدَ مِنْ أَعْلامِ دِينِكَ وَسُنَنِ نَبِيِّكَ
wa mushayyidan lima warada min a`lami dinika wa sunani nabiyyika
and the constructor of all signs of Your religion and instructions of Your Messenger,
صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِهِ وَٱجْعَلْهُ
salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi waj`alhu
peace be upon him and his Household, that he will see.
ٱللَّهُمَّ مِمَّنْ حَصَّنْتَهُ مِنْ بَأُسِ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ
allahumma mimman hassantahu min ba'si almu`tadina
O Allah, (please) include him with those whom You protect from the domination of the aggressors.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَسُرَّ نَبِيَّكَ مُحَمَّداً
allahumma wa surra nabiyyaka muhammadan
O Allah, (please) delight Your Prophet Muhammad,
صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِهِ
salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi
peace be upon him and his Household,
بِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهُ عَلَىٰ دَعْوَتِهِ
biru'yatihi wa man tabi`ahu `ala da`watihi
as well as all those who followed him in his promulgation by making (us) see him,
وَٱرْحَمِ ٱسْتِكَانَتَنَا بَعْدَهُ
warham istikanatana ba`dahu
and (please) have mercy upon our humiliation after him.
اَللَّهُمَّ ٱكْشِفْ هٰذِهِ ٱلْغُمَّةَ عَنْ هٰذِهِ ٱلأُمَّةِ بِحُضُورِهِ
allahumma ikshif hadhihi alghummata `an hadhihi al-ummati bihudurihi
O Allah, (please) relieve this community from the (current) grief through presenting him
وَعَجِّلْ لَنَا ظُهُورَهُ
wa `ajjil lana zuhurahu
and expedite his advent for us:
«إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُ بَعِيداً وَنَرَاهُ قَرِيباً.»
innahum yarawnahu ba`idan wa narahu qariban
“Surely, they think it to be far off, and We see it nigh.”
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina
[do all that] In the name of Your mercy; O most merciful of all those who show mercy.
الْعَجَلَ ٱلْعَجَلَ يَامَوْلايَ يَا صَاحِبَ ٱلزَّمَانِ
al`ajala al`ajala ya mawlaya ya sahiba alzzaman
(We pray for Your) earliest advent, earliest advent, O Patron of the Age.
