Dua Asharaat
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّهِ
subhana allahi
All Glory be to Allah,
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ
walhamdu lillahi
all praise be to Allah,
وَلاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
wa la ilaha illa allahu
there is no god save Allah,
وَٱللَّهُ اكْبَرُ
wallahu akbaru
Allah is the Greatest,
وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَلِيِّ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi al`aliyyi al`azimi
there is neither power nor might save with Allah, the Most High, the All-magnificent.
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّهِ آنَاءَ ٱللَّيْلِ وَاطْرَافَ ٱلنَّهَارِ
subhana allahi ana'a allayli wa atrafa alnnahari
Glory be to Allah in hours of the night and at the two ends of the day.
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّهِ بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلآصَالِ
subhana allahi bilghuduwwi wal-asali
Glory be to Allah in the morning and the evening hours.
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّهِ بِٱلْعَشِيِّ وَٱلإِبْكَارِ
subhana allahi bil`ashiyyi wal-ibkari
Glory be to Allah in the early hours of night and morning.
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّهِ حِينَ تُمْسُونَ وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُونَ
subhana allahi hina tumsuna wa hina tusbihuna
Glory be to Allah when you enter the night and when you enter the morning.
وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِي ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ وَٱلارْضِ
wa lahu alhamdu fi alssamawati wal-ardi
Unto Him be praise in the heavens, the earth,
وَعَشِيّاً وَحِينَ تُظْهِرُونَ
wa `ashiyyan wa hina tuzhiruna
at the sun's decline, and in the noonday.
يُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَيَّ مِنَ ٱلمَيِّتِ
yukhriju alhayya mina almayyiti
He brings forth the living from the dead,
وَيُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلحَيِّ
wa yukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi
brings forth the dead from the living,
وَيُحْيِي ٱلارْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا
wa yuhyi al-arda ba`da mawtiha
revives the earth after its death,
وَكَذٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ
wa kadhalika tukhrajuna
and even so will you be brought forth.
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
subhana rabbika rabbi al`izzati `amma yasifuna
Glorified be Your Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (to Him).
وَسَلاَمٌ عَلَىٰ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
wa salamun `ala almursalina
Peace be upon the Messengers.
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ
walhamdu lillahi rabbi al`alamina
All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
سُبْحَانَ ذِي ٱلْمُلْكِ وَٱلْمَلَكُوتِ
subhana dhi almulki walmalakuti
Glory be to the Lord of Kingdom and Realm.
سُبْحَانَ ذِي ٱلْعِزَّةِ وَٱلْجَبَرُوتِ
subhana dhi al`izzati waljabaruti
Glory be to the Lord of Majesty and Magnificence.
سُبْحَانَ ذِي ٱلْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَٱلْعَظَمَةِ
subhana dhi alkibriya'i wal`azamati
Glory be to the Lord of Greatness and Magnitude;
ٱلْمَلِكِ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلْمُهَيْمِنِ ٱلْقُدُّوسِ
almaliki alhaqqi almuhaymini alquddusi
the True Sovereign, the Guardian, and the Holy.
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَلِكِ ٱلْحَيِّ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يَمُوتُ
subhana allahi almaliki alhayyi alladhi la yamutu
Glory be to Allah, the Sovereign, the Ever-living Who never dies.
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَلِكِ ٱلْحَيِّ ٱلْقُدُّوسِ
subhana allahi almaliki alhayyi alquddusi
Glory be to Allah, the Ever-living, the Holy.
سُبْحَانَ ٱلْقَائِمِ ٱلدَّائِمِ
subhana alqa'imi aldda'imi
Glory be to the Self-Existent, the Eternal.
سُبْحَانَ ٱلدَّائِمِ ٱلْقَائِمِ
subhana aldda'imi alqa'imi
Glory be to the Eternal, the Self-Existent.
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
subhana rabbiya al`azimi
Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great.
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ ٱلاعْلَىٰ
subhana rabbiya al-a`la
Glory be to my Lord, the Most High.
سُبْحَانَ ٱلْحَيِّ ٱلْقَيُّومِ
subhana alhayyi alqayyumi
Glory be to the Ever-living, the Self-Existent.
سُبْحَانَ ٱلْعَلِيِّ ٱلاعْلَىٰ
subhana al`aliyyi al-a`la
Glory be to the Exalted, the Most High.
سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ
subhanahu wa ta`ala
Glory be to Him, and Exalted be Him.
سُبُّوحٌ قُدُّوسٌ
subbuhun quddusun
Glorified (is He), Holy (is He),
رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَلاَئِكَةِ وَٱلرُّوحِ
rabbuna wa rabbu almala'ikati walrruhi
Our Lord, and the Lord of the angels and the Spirit.
سُبْحَانَ ٱلدَّائِمِ غَيْرِ ٱلْغَافِلِ
subhana aldda'imi ghayri alghafili
Glory be to the Eternal Who never forgets.
سُبْحَانَ ٱلْعَالِمِ بِغَيْرِ تَعْلِيمٍ
subhana al`alimi bighayri ta`limin
Glory be to the All-knowing Who does not need teaching.
سُبْحَانَ خَالِقِ مَا يُرَىٰ وَمَا لاَ يُرَىٰ
subhana khaliqi ma yura wa ma la yura
Glory be to the Creator of all seen and unseen beings.
سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي يُدْرِكُ ٱلابْصَارَ
subhana alladhi yudriku al-absara
Glory be to Him Who comprehends all visions,
وَلاَ تُدْرِكُهُ ٱلابْصَارُ
wa la tudrikuhu al-absaru
but visions cannot comprehend Him,
وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ
wa huwa allatifu alkhabiru
and He is the Knower of subtleties, the Aware.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي اصْبَحْتُ مِنْكَ فِي نِعْمَةٍ وَخَيْرٍ
allahumma inni asbahtu minka fi ni`matin wa khayrin
O Allah, I begin my day covered with grace and favor from You
وَبَرَكَةٍ وَعَافِيَةٍ
wa barakatin wa `afiyatin
as well as blessing and good health.
فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ
fasalli `ala muhammadin wa alihi
So, (please) bless Muhammad and his Household,
وَاتْمِمْ عَلَيَّ نِعْمَتَكَ وَخَيْرَكَ
wa atmim `alayya ni`mataka wa khayraka
make perfect Your grace and favor for me
وَبَرَكَاتِكَ وَعَافِيَتَكَ
wa barakatika wa `afiyataka
as well as Your blessings and good health,
بِنَجَاةٍ مِنَ النَّارِ
binajatin mina alnnari
through redemption from Hellfire,
وَٱرْزُقْنِي شُكْرَكَ وَعَافِيَتَكَ
warzuqni shukraka wa `afiyataka
grant me thanksgiving to You, enjoyment of wellbeing from You,
وَفَضْلَكَ وَكَرَامَتَكَ ابَداً مَا ابْقَيْتَنِي
wa fadlaka wa karamataka abadan ma abqaytani
Your grace, and Your honor permanently so long as You decide to keep me alive.
اَللَّهُمَّ بِنُورِكَ ٱهْتَدَيْتُ
allahumma binurika ihtadaytu
O Allah, only by Your Light have I been guided,
وَبِفَضْلِكَ ٱسْتَغْنَيْتُ
wa bifadlika istaghnaytu
only by Your grace have I been opulent,
وَبِنِعْمَتِكَ اصْبَحْتُ وَامْسَيْتُ
wa bini`matika asbahtu wa amsaytu
and only by Your grace have I lived in eves and morns.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي اشْهِدُكَ وَكَفَىٰ بِكَ شَهِيداً
allahumma inni ush-hiduka wa kafa bika shahidan
O Allah, I ask You to witness for me, and You are surely sufficient as a witness,
وَاشْهِدُ مَلاَئِكَتَكَ وَانْبِيَاءَكَ وَرُسُلَكَ
wa ush-hidu mala'ikataka wa anbiya'aka wa rusulaka
and I also choose as witnesses Your angels, Prophets, Messengers,
وَحَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ وَسُكَّانَ سَمَاوَاتِكَ وَارْضِكَ
wa hamalata `arshika wa sukkana samawatika wa ardika
the bearers of Your Throne, the inhabitants of Your heavens and earth,
وَجَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ
wa jami`a khalqika
and all Your creatures,
بِانَّكَ انْتَ ٱللَّهُ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ انْتَ
bi'annaka anta allahu la ilaha illa anta
that You are Allah, there is no god save You,
وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ
wahdaka la sharika laka
One and Only Lord, having no partner,
وَانَّ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ
wa anna muhammadan salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi `abduka wa rasuluka
and that Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household, is Your servant and Messenger,
وَانَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَدِيرٌ
wa annaka `ala kulli shay'in qadirun
and that You have power over all things;
تُحْيِي وَتُمِيتُ وَتُمِيتُ وَتُحْيِي
tuhyi wa tumitu wa tumitu wa tuhyi
You grant life and cause to die and You cause to die and grant life;
وَاشْهَدُ انَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ حَقٌّ
wa ash-hadu anna aljannata haqqun
and I witness that Paradise is true,
وَانَّ ٱلنَّارَ حَقٌّ
wa anna alnnara haqqun
Hellfire is true,
وَانَّ ٱلنُّشُورَ حَقٌ
wa anna alnnushura haqqun
Resurrection is true,
وَٱلسَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيهَا
walssa`ata atiyatun la rayba fiha
the Hour is coming, there is no doubt about it,
وَانَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِي ٱلْقُبُورِ
wa anna allaha yab`athu man fi alquburi
and Allah shall raise up those who are in graves.
وَاشْهَدُ انَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ ابِي طَالِبٍ امِيرُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَقّاً حَقّاً
wa ash-hadu anna `aliyya bna abi talibin amiru almu'minina haqqan haqqan
I also witness that `Ali the son of Abu-Talib is truly the commander of the faithful, indeed,
وَانَّ ٱلائِمَّةَ مِنْ وُلْدِهِ هُمُ ٱلائِمَّةُ ٱلْهُدَاةُ ٱلْمَهْدِيُّونَ
wa anna al-a'immata min wuldihi hum al-a'immatu alhudatu almahdiyyuna
the Imams from his offspring are the guides, leaders, and well-guided,
غَيْرُ ٱلضَّالِّينَ وَلاَ ٱلْمُضِلِّينَ
ghayru alddallina wa la almudillina
neither straying off nor misleading,
وَانَّهُمْ اوْلِيَاؤُكَ ٱلْمُصْطَفَوْنَ
wa annahum awliya'uka almustafawna
and they are Your chosen representatives,
وَحِزْبُكَ ٱلْغَالِبُونَ
wa hizbuka alghalibuna
Your triumphant party,
وَصِفْوَتُكَ وَخِيَرَتُكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
wa sifwatuka wa khiyaratuka min khalqika
Your choice, the most favorable of all Your creatures,
وَنُجَبَاؤُكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱنْتَجَبْتَهُمْ لِدِينِكَ
wa nujaba'uka alladhina intajabtahum lidinika
the superior ones whom You have selected for Your religion,
وَٱخْتَصَصْتَهُمْ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
wakhtasastahum min khalqika
decided on from among Your beings,
وَٱصْطَفَيْتَهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ
wastafaytahum `ala `ibadika
chosen from among Your servants,
وَجَعَلْتَهُمْ حُجَّةً عَلَىٰ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ
wa ja`altahum hujjatan `ala al`alamina
and made Claims against all beings.
صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱلسَّلاَمُ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
salawatuka `alayhim wa alssalamu wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu
May Your consent, peace, mercy, and blessings be upon them.
اللَّهُمَّ ٱكْتُبْ لِي هٰذِهِ ٱلشَّهَادَةَ عِنْدَكَ
allahumma iktub li hadhihi alshshahadata `indaka
O Allah, (please do) certify this witness for me with You
حَتَّىٰ تُلَقِّنَنِيهَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَامَةِ وَانْتَ عَنِّي رَاضٍ
hatta tulaqqinaniha yawma alqiyamati wa anta `anni radin
so that You shall give it back to me on the Resurrection Day while You are pleased with me.
إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ مَا تَشَاءُ قَدِيرٌ
innaka `ala ma tasha'u qadirun
Verily, You have power over all that which You will.
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ حَمْداً يَصْعَدُ اوَّلُهُ وَلاَ يَنْفَدُ آخِرُهُ
allahumma laka alhamdu hamdan yas`adu awwaluhu wa la yanfadu akhiruhu
O Allah, to You be praise the first of which ascends while its end is infinite.
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ حَمْداً تَضَعُ لَكَ ٱلسَّمَاءُ كَنَفَيْهَا
allahumma laka alhamdu hamdan tada`u laka alssama'u kanafayha
O Allah, to You be praise due to which the heavens humbles itself to You
وَتُسَبِّحُ لَكَ ٱلارْضُ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا
wa tusabbihu laka al-ardu wa man `alayha
and the earth as well as all those on it glorify You.
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ حَمْداً سَرْمَداً ابَداً
allahumma laka alhamdu hamdan sarmadan abadan
O Allah, to You be praise—eternal, endless,
لاَ ٱنْقِطَاعَ لَهُ وَلاَ نَفَادَ
la inqita`a lahu wa la nafada
having neither cessation nor exhaustion,
وَلَكَ يَنْبَغِي وَإِلَيْكَ يَنْتَهِي
wa laka yanbaghi wa ilayka yantahi
fitting You, and being dedicated to You,
فِيَّ وَعَلَيَّ وَلَدَيَّ
fiyya wa `alayya wa ladayya
about me, on (Your favors to) me, with me,
وَمَعِي وَقَبْلِي وَبَعْدِي
wa ma`i wa qabli wa ba`di
along with me, before me, after me,
وَامَامِي وَفَوْقِي وَتَحْتِي
wa amami wa fawqi wa tahti
in front of me, over me, beneath me,
وَإِذَا مِتُّ وَبَقِيتُ فَرْداً وَحِيداً ثُمَّ فَنِيتُ
wa idha mittu wa baqitu fardan wahidan thumma fanitu
when I die, remain totally alone, and will be then terminated.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ إِذَا نُشِرْتُ وَبُعِثْتُ
wa laka alhamdu idha nushirtu wa bu`ithtu
To You be all praise when I shall be resurrected and raised up (from grave).
يَا مَوْلاَيَ اللَّهُمَ وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ
ya mawlaya allahumma wa laka alhamdu
O my Lord, O Allah, to You be all praise
وَلَكَ ٱلشُّكْرُ بِجَمِيعِ مَحَامِدِكَ كُلِّهَا
wa laka alshshukru bijami`i mahamidika kulliha
and all thanks in all forms of praising You
عَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ نَعْمَائِكَ كُلِّهَا
`ala jami`i na`ma'ika kulliha
for all Your favors
حَتَّىٰ يَنْتَهِيَ ٱلْحَمْدُ إِلَىٰ مَا تُحِبُّ رَبَّنَا وَتَرْضَىٰ
hatta yantahiya alhamdu ila ma tuhibbu rabbana wa tarda
until (this) praise achieves the pleasure and satisfaction of You, O our Lord.
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ اكْلَةٍ وَشَرْبَةٍ
allahumma laka alhamdu `ala kulli aklatin wa sharbatin
O Allah, to You be all praise for each and every food, drink,
وَبَطْشَةٍ وَقَبْضَةٍ
wa batshatin wa qabdatin
power, grip,
وَبَسْطَةٍ وَفِي كُلِّ مَوْضِعِ شَعْرَةٍ
wa bastatin wa fi kulli mawdi`i sha`ratin
extension, and for each place of a single hair.
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ حَمْداً خَالِداً مَعَ خُلُودِكَ
allahumma laka alhamdu hamdan khalidan ma`a khuludika
O Allah, to You be all praise that is as eternal as You are.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ حَمْداً لاَ مُنْتَهَىٰ لَهُ دُونَ عِلْمِكَ
wa laka alhamdu hamdan la muntaha lahu duna `ilmika
To You be all praise that never ends save Your knowledge (about it).
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ حَمْداً لاَ امَدَ لَهُ دُونَ مَشِيَّتِكَ
wa laka alhamdu hamdan la amada lahu duna mashi'atika
To You be all praise that has no limit save when You will.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ حَمْداً لاَ اجْرَ لِقَائِلِهِ إِلاَّ رِضَاكَ
wa laka alhamdu hamdan la ajra liqa'ilihi illa ridaka
To You be all praise the one and only reward of its sayer is nothing save Your pleasure.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَلَىٰ حِلْمِكَ بَعْدَ عِلْمِكَ
wa laka alhamdu `ala hilmika ba`da `ilmika
To You be all praise for You act forbearingly though You know.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَلَىٰ عَفْوِكَ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِكَ
wa laka alhamdu `ala `afwika ba`da qudratika
To You be all praise for You pardon though You have power (not to do).
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ بَاعِثَ ٱلْحَمْدِ
wa laka alhamdu ba`itha alhamdi
To You be all praise and You are the source of praise.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ وَارِثَ ٱلْحَمْدِ
wa laka alhamdu waritha alhamdi
To You be all praise and You are the inheritor of praise.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ بَدِيعَ ٱلْحَمْدِ
wa laka alhamdu badi`a alhamdi
To You be all praise and You are the fashioner of praise.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ مُنْتَهَىٰ ٱلْحَمْدِ
wa laka alhamdu muntaha alhamdi
To You be all praise and You are the utmost of praise.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ مُبْتَدِعَ ٱلْحَمْدِ
wa laka alhamdu mubtadi`a alhamdi
To You be all praise and You are the author of praise.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ مُشْتَرِيَ ٱلْحَمْدِ
wa laka alhamdu mushtariya alhamdi
To You be all praise and You are the object of praise.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ وَلِيَّ ٱلْحَمْدِ
wa laka alhamdu waliyya alhamdi
To You be all praise and You are the lord of praise.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ قَدِيمَ ٱلْحَمْدِ
wa laka alhamdu qadima alhamdi
To You be all praise and You are the ultimate objective of praise.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَفِيَّ ٱلْعَهْدِ
wa laka alhamdu sadiqa alwa`di wafiyya al`ahdi
To You be all praise and You are truthful in promise, fulfiller of pledge,
عَزِيزَ ٱلْجُنْدِ قَائِمَ ٱلْمَجْدِ
`aziza aljundi qa'ima almajdi
mighty in power, and subsistingly glorious.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ رَفِيعَ ٱلدَّرَجَاتِ مُجِيبَ ٱلدَّعَوَاتِ
wa laka alhamdu rafi`a alddarajati mujiba aldda`awati
To You be all praise and You are the highest in ranks, the responsive to prayers,
مُنَزِّلَ ٱلآيَاتِ مِنْ فَوْقِ سَبْعِ سَمَاوَاتٍ
munazzila al-ayati min fawqi sab`i samawatin
the descender of sings (or Verses) from above seven skies,
عَظِيمَ ٱلْبَرَكَاتِ
`azima albarakati
the grantor of outstanding blessings,
مُخْرِجَ ٱلنُّورِ مِنَ ٱلظُّلُمَاتِ
mukhrija alnnuri mina alzzulumati
the bringer forth of light from utter darkness,
وَمُخْرِجَ مَنْ فِي ٱلظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَىٰ ٱلنُّورِ
wa mukhrija man fi alzzulumati ila alnnuri
the bringer forth of those who are in darkness to light,
مُبَدِّلَ ٱلسَّيِّئَاتِ حَسَنَاتٍ
mubaddla alssayyi'ati hasanatin
the changer of evil deeds into good deeds,
وَجَاعِلَ ٱلْحَسَنَاتِ دَرَجَاتٍ
wa ja`ila alhasanati darajatin
and the maker of good deeds raise to high ranks.
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ غَافِرَ ٱلذَّنْبِ وَقَابِلَ ٱلتَّوْبِ
allahumma laka alhamdu ghafira aldhdhanbi wa qabila alttawbi
O Allah, to You be all praise and You are the Forgiver of the faults, the Acceptor of repentance,
شَدِيدَ ٱلْعِقَابِ ذَا ٱلطَّوْلِ
shadida al`iqabi dhalttawli
severe to punish, and Lord of bounty.
لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ انْتَ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
la ilaha illa anta ilayka almasiru
There is no god save You; to You shall be the return.
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِي ٱللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
allahumma laka alhamdu fi allayli idha yaghsha
O Allah, to You be all praise in the night when it draws a veil.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِي ٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ
wa laka alhamdu fi alnnahari idha tajalla
To You be all praise in the day when it shines in brightness.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِي ٱلآخِرَةِ وَٱلاولَىٰ
wa laka alhamdu fi al-akhirati wal-ula
To You be all praise in the Hereafter and the former life.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ كُلِّ نَجْمٍ وَمَلَكٍ فِي ٱلسَّمَاءِ
wa laka alhamdu `adada kulli najmin wa malakin fi alssama'i
To You be all praise as many as the numbers of all stars and angels in the heavens.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ ٱلثَّرَىٰ وَٱلْحَصَىٰ وَٱلنَّوَىٰ
wa laka alhamdu `adada alththara walhasa walnnawa
To You be all praise as much as dust and as many as pebbles and seeds.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ مَا فِي جَوِّ ٱلسَّمَاءِ
wa laka alhamdu `adada ma fi jawwi alssama'i
To You be all praise as many as all that which is in the air.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ مَا فِي جَوْفِ ٱلارْضِ
wa laka alhamdu `adada ma fi jawfi al-ardi
To You be all praise as many as all that which is in the interior of the earth.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ اوْزَانِ مِيَاهِ ٱلْبِحَارِ
wa laka alhamdu `adada awzani miyahi albihari
To You be all praise as much as the weight of sea water.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ اوْرَاقِ ٱلاشْجَارِ
wa laka alhamdu `adada awraqi al-ashjari
To You be all praise as many as leaves of trees.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ مَا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِ ٱلارْضِ
wa laka alhamdu `adada ma `ala wajhi al-ardi
To You be all praise as many as all that which exists on the earth surface.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ مَا احْصَىٰ كِتَابُكَ
wa laka alhamdu `adada ma ahsa kitabuka
To You be all praise as much as that which has been counted by Your Book.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ مَا احَاطَ بِهِ عِلْمُكَ
wa laka alhamdu `adada ma ahata bihi `ilmuka
To You be all praise as much as all that which is comprehended by Your Knowledge.
وَلَكَ ٱلْحَمْدُ عَدَدَ ٱلإِنْسِ وَٱلْجِنِّ
wa laka alhamdu `adada al-insi waljinni
To You be all praise as many as the numbers of men, jinn,
وَٱلْهَوَامِّ وَٱلطَّيْرِ وَٱلْبَهَائِمِ وَٱلسِّبَاعِ
walhawammi walttayri walbaha'imi walssiba`i
pests, birds, animals, and beasts—
حَمْداً كَثِيراً طَيِّباً
hamdan kathiran tayyiban
praise that is abundant, pleasant,
مُبَارَكاً فِيهِ كَمَا تُحِبُّ رَبَّنَا وَتَرْضَىٰ
mubarakan fihi kama tuhibbu rabbana wa tarda
and as blessed as You, our Lord, please and gratify
وَكَمَا يَنْبَغِي لِكَرَمِ وَجْهِكَ وَعِزِّ جَلاَلِكَ
wa kama yanbaghi likarami wajhika wa `izzi jalalika
so much so that it befits the majesty of Your Face and the dignity of Your splendor.
There is no god save Allah; One and Only and having no partner. To Him is the Kingdom and to Him is (all) praise. He is the Knower of subtleties, the Aware.
لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ
la ilaha illa allahu wahdahu la sharika lahu lahu almulku wa lahu alhamdu wa huwa allatifu alkhabiru
There is no god save Allah; One and Only and having no partner. To Him is the Kingdom and to Him is (all) praise. He gives life and causes to die and causes to die and gives life, while He is ever-living and never dies. In His Hand is the entire goodness and He has power over all things.
لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَيُمِيتُ وَيُحْيِي وَهُوَحَيٌّ لاَ يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ ٱلْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
la ilaha illa allahu wahdahu la sharika lahu lahu almulku wa lahu alhamdu yuhyi wa yumitu wa yumitu wa yuhyi wa huwa hayyun la yamutu biyadihi alkhayru wa huwa `ala kulli shay'in qadirun
I pray the forgiveness of Allah; there is no god save Him, the Ever-living, the Self-subsistent, and I repent to Him.
اسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ ٱلْحَيُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ وَاتُوبُ إِلَيْه
astaghfiru allaha alladhi la ilaha illa huwa alhayyu alqayyumu wa atubu ilayhi
O Allah, O Allah!
يَا ٱللَّهُ يَا ٱللَّهُ
ya allahu ya allahu
O All-beneficent, O All-beneficent!
يَا رَحْمٰنُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ
ya rahmanu ya rahmanu
O All-merciful, O All-merciful!
يَا رَحِيمُ يَا رَحِيمُ
yarahimu ya rahimu
O Fashioner of the heavens and the earth!
يَا بَدِيعَ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ وَٱلارْضِ
ya badi`a alssamawati wal-ardi
O Lord of Majesty and Dignity!
يَا ذَا ٱلْجَلاَلِ وَٱلإِكْرَامِ
ya dhaljalali wal-ikrami
O All-compassionate! O Grantor (of graces)!
يَا حَنَّانُ يَا مَنَّانُ
ya hannanu ya mannanu
O Ever-living! O Self-Subsistent!
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ
ya hayyu yaqayyumu
O Ever-living! There is no god save You!
يَا حَيُّ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ انْتَ
ya hayyu la ilaha illa anta
O Allah! O He save Whom there is no god!
يَا ٱللَّهُ يَا لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ انْتَ
ya allahu ya la ilaha illa anta
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismi allahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, do to me that which You are worthy to do.
اللَّهُمَّ ٱفْعَلْ بِي مَا انْتَ اهْلُهُ
allahumma if`al bi ma anta ahluhu
(please do) Respond, respond.
آمِينَ آمِينَ
amina amina
Say: He, Allah, is One.
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ احَدٌ
qul huwa allahu ahadun
O Allah, do with me that which You are worthy to do
اللَّهُمَّ ٱصْنَعْ بِي مَا انْتَ اهْلُهُ
allahumma isna` bi ma anta ahluhu
but do not do to me that which I deserve,
وَلاَ تَصْنَعْ بِي مَا انَا اهْلُهُ
wa la tasna` bi ma ana ahluhu
for You are worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive,
فَإِنَّكَ اهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَاهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ
fa'innaka ahlu alttaqwa wa ahlu almaghfirati
while I am the one of sins and faults.
وَانَا اهْلُ ٱلذُّنُوبِ وَٱلْخَطَايَا
wa ana ahlu aldhdhunubi walkhataya
So, have mercy upon me, O my Lord,
فَٱرْحَمْنِي يَا مَوْلاَيَ
farhamni ya mawlaya
and You are the most merciful of all those who show mercy.
وَانْتَ ارْحَمُ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
wa anta arhamu alrrahimina
There is neither power nor might save with Allah.
لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِٱللَّهِ
la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi
I trust in the Ever-living (Lord) Who never dies.
تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْحَيِّ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يَمُوتُ
tawakkaltu `ala alhayyi alladhi la yamutu
All praise be to Allah, Who begets no son,
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَداً
walhamdu lillahi alladhi lm yattakhidh waladan
and has no partner in His dominion
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي ٱلْمُلْكِ
wa lam yakun lahu sharikun fi almulki
nor needs He any to protect Him from humiliation:
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِيٌّ مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ
wa lam yakun lahu waliyyun mina aldhdhulli
yea, magnify Him for His greatness and glory!
وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيراً
wa kabbirhu takbiran
