Dua Sabah (Imam Ali a.s.)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismi allahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اللَّهُمَّ يَا مَنْ دَلَعَ لِسَانَ ٱلصَّبَاحِ بِنُطْقِ تَبَلُّجِهِ
allahumma ya man dala`a lisana alssabahi binutqi taballujihi
O Allah, O He Who extended the morning's tongue in the speech of its dawning,
وَسَرَّحَ قِطَعَ ٱللَّيْلِ ٱلْمُظْلِمِ بِغَيَاهِبِ تَلَجْلُجِهِ
wa sarraha qita`a allayli almuzlimi bighayahibi talajlujihi
dispatched the fragments of the dark night into the gloom of its stammering,
وَأَتْقَنَ صُنْعَ ٱلْفَلَكِ الدَّوَّارِ فِي مَقَادِيرِ تَبَرُّجِهِ
wa atqana sun`a alfalaki alddawwari fi maqadiri tabarrujihi
made firm the structure of the turning spheres in the measure of its display,
وَشَعْشَعَ ضِيَاءَ ٱلشَّمْسِ بِنُورِ تَأَجُّجِهِ
wa sha`sha`a diya'a alshshamsi binuri ta'ajjujihi
and beamed forth the brightness of the sun through the light of its blazing!
يَا مَنْ دَلَّ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِهِ بِذَاتِهِ
ya man dalla `ala dhatihi bidhatihi
O He Who demonstrates His Essence by His Essence,
وَتَنَزَّهَ عَنْ مُجَانَسَةِ مَخْلُوقَاتِهِ
wa tanazzaha `an mujanasati makhluqatihi
transcends from congeniality with His creatures,
وَجَلَّ عَنْ مُلائَمَةِ كَيْفِيَاتِهِ
wa jalla `an mula'amati kayfiyyatihi
and is exalted beyond conformity with His qualities!
يَا مَنْ قَرُبَ مِنْ خَطَرَاتِ ٱلظُّنُونِ
ya man qaruba min khatarati alzzununi
O He Who is near to the passing thoughts of opinions,
وَبَعُدَ عَنْ لَحَظَاتِ ٱلْعُيُونِ
wa ba`uda `an lahazati al`uyuni
far from the regards of eyes,
وَعَلِمَ بِمَا كَانَ قَبْلَ أَن يَكُونَ
wa `alima bima kana qabla an yakuna
and knows what will be before it comes to be!
يَا مَنْ أَرْقَدَنِي فِي مِهَادِ أَمْنِهِ وَأَمَانِهِ
ya man arqadani fi mihadi amnihi wa amanihi
O He Who has put me at ease in the cradle of His security and sanctuary,
وَأَيْقَظَنِي إِلَىٰ مَا مَنَحَنِي بِهِ مِنْ مِنَنِهِ وَإِحْسَانِهِ
wa ayqazani ila ma manahani bihi min minanihi wa ihsanihi
awakened me to the favors and kindness that He has bestowed upon me,
وَكَفَّ أَكُفَّ السُّوءِ عَنِّي بِيَدِهِ وَسُلْطَانِهِ
wa kaffa akuffa alssu'i `anni biyadihi wa sultanihi
and held back from me the claws of evil with His hand and His authority!
صَلِّ اللَّهُمَّ عَلَىٰ ٱلدَّلِيلِ إِلَيْكَ فِي ٱللَّيْلِ ٱلأَلْيَلِ
salli allahumma `ala alddalili ilayka fi allayli al-alyali
Bless, O Allah, the guide to You in the darkest night,
وَٱلْمَاسِكِ مِنْ أَسْبَابِكَ بِحَبْلِ ٱلشَّرَفِ ٱلأَطْوَلِ
walmasiki min asbabika bihabli alshsharafi al-atwali
who, of Your ropes, clings to the cord of the longest nobility,
وَٱلنَّاصِعِ ٱلْحَسَبِ فِي ذِرْوَةِ ٱلْكَاهِلِ ٱلأَعْبَلِ
walnnasi`i alhasabi fi dhirwati alkahili al-a`bali
whose pure lineage evident at the summit of stout shoulders,
وَٱلثَّابِتِ ٱلْقَدَمِ عَلَىٰ زَحَاِليْفِهَا فِي ٱلزَّمَنِ ٱلأَوَّلِ
walththabiti alqadami `ala zahalifiha fi alzzamani al-awwali
and whose feet were entrenched in spite of slippery places in ancient time.
وَعَلَىٰ آلِهِ ٱلأَخْيَارِ ٱلْمُصْطَفَيْنَ ٱلأَبْرَارِ
wa `ala alihi al-akhyari almustafayna al-abrari
And [bless] his household, the good, chosen, and pious.
وٱفْتَحِ اللَّهُمَّ لَنَا مَصَارِيعَ ٱلصَّبَاحِ
waftah allahumma lana masari`a alssabahi
Open for us, O Allah, the leaves of the morning's door
بِمَفَاتِيحِ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ وَٱلْفَلاَحِ
bimafatihi alrrahmati walfalahi
with the keys of mercy and prosperity!
وَأَلْبِسْنِي ٱللَّهُمَّ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ خِلَعِ ٱلْهِدَايَةِ وَٱلصَّلاَحِ
wa albisni allahumma min afdali khila`i alhidayati walssalahi
Clothe me, O Allah, with the most excellent robes of guidance and righteousness!
وَٱغْرِسِ اللَّهُمَّ بِعَظَمَتِكَ فِي شِرْبِ جَنَانِي يَنَابِيعَ ٱلْخُشُوعِ
wa ighris allahumma bi`azamatika fi shirbi janani yanabi`a alkhushu`i
Plant, O Allah, through Your tremendousness, the springs of humility in the watering place of my heart!
وَأَجْرِ ٱللَّهُمَّ لِهَيْبَتِكَ مِنْ آمَاقِي زَفَرَاتِ ٱلدُّمُوعِ
wa ajri allahumma lihaybatika min amaqi zafarati alddumu`i
Cause to flow, O Allah, through fear of You, tears of moaning from the corners of my eyes!
وَأَدِّبِ ٱللَّهُمَّ نَزَقَ ٱلْخُرْقِ مِنِّي بِأَزِمَّةِ ٱلْقُنُوعِ
wa addib allahumma nazaqa alkhurqi minni bi-azimmati alqunu`i
Chastise, O Allah, the recklessness of my clumsiness with the reins of contentment!
إِلٰهِي إِن لَمْ تَبْتَدِئْنِي ٱلرَّحْمَةُ مِنْكَ بِحُسْنِ ٱلتَّوْفِيقِ
ilahi in lam tabtadi'ni alrrahmatu minka bihusni alttawfiqi
My God, if mercy from You does not begin with fair success for me,
فَمَنِ ٱلسَّاِلكُ بِي إِلَيْكَ فِي وَاضِحِ ٱلطَّرِيقِ
faman alssaliku bi ilayka fi wadihi alttariqi
then who can take me to You upon the evident path?
وَإِنْ أَسْلَمَتْنِي أَنَاتُكَ لِقَائِدِ ٱلأَمَلِ وَٱلْمُنَىٰ
wa in aslamatni anatuka liqa'idi al-amali walmuna
If Your deliberateness should turn me over to the guide of hope and wishes,
فَمَنِ ٱلْمُقِيلُ عَثَرَاتِي مِنْ كَبَوَاتِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
faman almuqilu `atharati min kabawati alhawa
then who will annul my slips from the stumbles of caprice?
وَإِنْ خَذَلَنِي نَصْرُكَ عِنْدَ مُحَارَبَةِ ٱلنَّفْسِ وَٱلشَّيْطَانِ
wa in khadhalani nasruka `inda muharabati alnnafsi walshshaytani
If Your help should forsake me in the battle against the soul and Satan,
فَقَدْ وَكَلَنِي خِذْلاَنُكَ إِلَىٰ حَيْثُ ٱلنَّصَبِ وَٱلْحِرْمَانِ
faqad wakalani khidhlanuka ila haythu alnnasabi walhirmani
then Your forsaking will have submitted me to where there is hardship and deprivation.
إِلٰهِي أَتَرَانِي مَا أَتَيْتُكَ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ ٱلآمَاِل
ilahi atarani ma ataytuka illa min haythu al-amali
My God, do You see that I have only come to You from the direction of hopes,
أَمْ عَلِقْتُ بِأَطْرَافِ حِبَاِلكَ إِلاَّ حِينَ بَاعَدَتْنِي ذُنُوبِي عَنْ دَارِ ٱلْوِصَاِل
am `aliqtu bi-atrafi hibalika illa hina ba`adatni dhunubi `an dari alwisali
or clung to the ends of Your cords when my sins have driven me from the house of union?
فَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَطِيَّةُ الَّتِي ٱمْتَطَتْ نَفْسِي مِنْ هَوَاهَا
fabi'sa almatiyyatu allati imtatat nafsi min hawaha
So what an evil mount upon which my soul has mounted-its caprice!
فَوَاهاً لَهَا لِمَا سَوَّلَتْ لَهَا ظُنُونُهَا وَمُنَاهَا
fawahan laha lima sawwalat laha zununuha wa munaha
Woe upon it for being seduced by its own opinions and wishes!
وَتَبّاً لَهَا لِجُرْأَتِهَا عَلَىٰ سَيِّدِهَا وَمَوْلاهَا
wa tabban laha lijur'atiha `ala sayyidiha wa mawlaha
Destruction be upon it for its audacity toward its Master and Protector!
إِلٰهِي قَرَعْتُ بَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ بِيَدِ رَجَائِي
ilahi qara`tu baba rahmatika biyadi raja'i
My God, I have knocked upon the door of Your mercy with the hand of my hope,
وَهَرَبْتُ إِلَيْكَ لاَجِئاً مِنْ فَرْطِ أَهْوَائِي
wa harabtu ilayka laji'an min farti ahwa'i
fled to You seeking refuge from my excessive caprice,
وَعَلَّقْتُ بِأَطْرَافِ حِبَاِلكَ أَنَامِلَ وَلائِي
wa `allaqtu bi-atrafi hibalika anamila wala'i
and fixed the fingers of my love to the ends of Your cords.
فَٱصْفَحِ اللَّهُمَّ عَمَّا كُنتُ أَجْرَمْتُهُ مِنْ زَلَلِي وَخَطَائِي
fasfah allahumma `amma kuntu ajramtuhu min zalali wa khata'i
So pardon, O Allah, the slips and errors I have committed,
وَأَقِلْنِي مِنْ صَرْعَةِ رِدَائِي
wa aqilni min sar`ati rida'i
and release me from the foot-tangling of my robe,
فَإِنَّكَ سَيِّدِي وَمَوْلايَ وَمُعْتَمَدِي وَرَجَائِي
fa'innaka sayyidi wa mawlaya wa mu`tamadi wa raja'i
for You are my Master, my Protector, my Support and my Hope,
وَأَنتَ غَايَةُ مَطْلُوبِي وَمُنَايَ فِي مُنْقَلَبِي وَمَثْوايَ
wa anta ghayatu matlubi wa munaya fi munqalabi wa mathwaya
and You are the object of my search and my desire in my ultimate end and stable abode.
إِلٰهِي كَيْفَ تَطْرُدُ مِسْكِيناً ٱلْتَجَأَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلذُّنُوبِ هَارِباً
ilahi kayfa tatrudu miskinan iltaja'a ilayka mina aldhdhunubi hariban
My God, how could You drive away a poor beggar who seeks refuge in You from sins, fleeing?
أَم كَيْفَ تُخَيِّبُ مُستَرْشِداً قَصَدَ إِلَىٰ جَنَابِكَ سَاعِياً
am kayfa tukhayyibu mustarshidan qasada ila janabika sa`iyan
How could You disappoint one seeking guidance who repairs to Your threshold, running?
أَمْ كَيْفَ تَرُدُّ ظَمْآناً وَرَدَ إِلَىٰ حِيَاضِكَ شَارِباً
am kayfa taruddu zam'anan warada ila hiyadika shariban
How could You reject a thirsty man who comes to Your pools to drink?
كَلاَّ وَحِيَاضُكَ مُتْرَعَةٌ فِي ضَنْكِ ٱلْمُحُولِ
kalla wa hiyaduka mutra`atun fi danki almuhuli
Never! For Your pools are full in the hardship of drought,
وَبَابُكَ مَفْتُوحٌ لِلطَّلَبِ وَٱلْوُغُولِ
wa babuka maftuhun lilttalabi walwughuli
Your door is open for seeking and penetration,
وَأَنتَ غَايَةُ ٱلْمَسْؤُولِ وَنِهَايَةُ ٱلْمَأْمُولِ
wa anta ghayatu almas'uli wa nihayatu alma'muli
and You are the goal of requests and the object of hopes.
إِلٰهِي هٰذِهِ أَزِمَّةُ نَفْسِي عَقَلْتُهَا بِعِقَاِل مَشِيئَتِكَ
ilahi hadhihi azimmatu nafsi `aqaltuha bi`iqali mashi'atika
My God, these are the reins of my soul I have bounded with the ties of Your will.
وَهٰذِهِ أَعْبَاءُ ذُنُوبِي دَرَاْتُهَا بِعَفْوِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ
wa hadhihi a`ba'u dhunubi dara'tuha bi`afwika wa rahmatika
These are the burdens of my sins I have averted with Your pardon and mercy.
وَهٰذِهِ أَهْوَائِيَ ٱلْمُضِلَّةُ وَكَلْتُهَا إِلَىٰ جَنَابِ لُطفِكَ وَرَاْفَتِكَ
wa hadhihi ahwa'i almudillatu wakaltuha ila janabi lutfika wa ra'fatika
These are my misleading caprices I have referred to the threshold of Your gentleness and kindliness.
فَٱجْعَلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ صَبَاحِي هٰذَا نَازِلاً عَلَيَّ بِضِيَاءِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ
faj`al allahumma sabahi hadha nazilan `alayya bidiya'i alhuda
So, make this morning of mine, O Allah, descend upon me with the radiance of guidance
وَبِٱلسَّلاَمَةِ فِي ٱلدِّينِ وَٱلدُّنْيَا
wa bilssalamati fi alddini walddunya
and safety in religion and this world!
وَمَسَائِيَ جُنَّةً مِنْ كَيْدِ ٱلْعِدَىٰ
wa masa'i junnatan min kaydi al`ida
And [make] my evening a shield against the deception of enemies
وَوِقَايَةً مِنْ مُرْدِيَاتِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
wa wiqayatan min murdiyati alhawa
and a protection against the destructive blows of caprice!
إِنَّكَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَشَاءُ
innaka qadirun `ala ma tasha'u
Verily, You have power to do what You will!
تُؤْتِي ٱلْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ
tu'ti almulka man tasha'u
You give the kingdom to whom You will,
وَتَنْزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَاءُ
wa tanzi`u almulka mimman tasha'u
seize the kingdom from whom You will,
وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ
wa tu`izzu man tasha'u
exalt whom You will,
وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ
wa tudhillu man tasha'u
and abase whom You will.
بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيرُ
biyadika alkhayru
In Your hand is the good
إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
innaka `ala kulli shay'in qadirun
and You are powerful over all things.
تُولِجُ ٱللَّيْلَ فِي ٱلنَّهَارِ
tuliju allayla fi alnnahari
You make the night to enter into the day,
وَتُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِي ٱللَّيْلِ
wa tuliju alnnahara fi allayli
make the day to enter into the night,
وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَيَّ مِنَ ٱلمَيِّتِ
wa tukhriju alhayya mina almayyiti
bring forth the living from the dead,
وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلحَيِّ
wa tukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi
bring forth the dead from the living,
وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
wa tarzuqu man tasha'u bighayri hisabin
and provide whomsoever You will without measure!
لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنتَ
la ilaha illa anta
There is no god but You!
سُبْحَانَكَ ٱللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ
subhanaka allahumma wa bihamdika
Glory be to You, O Allah, and Yours is the praise!
مَنْ ذَا يَعْرِفُ قَدْرَكَ فَلاَ يَخَافُكَ
man dha ya`rifu qadraka fala yakhafuka
Who knows Your measure and yet does not fear You?
وَمَن ذَا يَعْلَمُ مَا أَنتَ فَلاَ يَهَابُكَ
wa man dha ya`lamu ma anta fala yahabuka
Who knows what You are and yet does not stand in awe of You?
أَلَّفْتَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ ٱلْفِرَقَ
allafta biqudratika alfiraqa
Through Your power, You have joined disparate things,
وَفَلَقْتَ بِلُطْفِكَ ٱلْفَلَقَ
wa falaqta bilutfika alfalaqa
through Your gentleness, You have cleaved apart the daybreak,
وَأَنَرْتَ بِكَرَمِكَ ديَاجِيَ ٱلْغَسَقِ
wa anarta bikaramika dayajiya alghasaqi
through Your generosity, You have illumined the dark shrouds of night,
وَأَنْهَرْتَ ٱلْمِيَاهَ مِنَ ٱلصُّمِّ ٱلصَّيَاخِيدِ عَذْباً وَأُجَاجاً
wa anharta almiyaha mina alssummi alssayakhidi `adhban wa ujajan
made waters, sweet and salt, flow forth from hard shining stones,
وَأَنزَلْتَ مِنَ ٱلمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجاً
wa anzalta mina almu`sirati ma'an thajjajan
sent dawn out of rain-clouds water cascading,
وَجَعَلْتَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ لِلْبَرِيَّةِ سِرَاجاً وَهَّاجاً
wa ja`alta alshshamsa walqamara lilbariyyati sirajan wahhajan
and appointed the sun and the moon a blazing lamp for the creatures
مِنْ غَيْرِ أَن تُمَارِسَ فِيمَا ٱبْتَدَأْتَ بِهِ لُغُوباً وَلاَ عِلاَجاً
min ghayri an tumarisa fima ibtada'ta bihi lughuban wa la `ilajan
without experiencing in that which You originated either weariness or effort.
فَيَا مَنْ تَوَحَّدَ بِٱلْعِزِّ وَٱلْبَقَاءِ
faya man tawahhada bil`izzi walbaqa'i
So, O He Who is alone in might and subsistence
وَقَهَرَ عِبَادَهُ بِٱلْمَوْتِ وَٱلْفَنَاءِ
wa qahara `ibadahu bilmawti walfana'i
and dominates His slaves with death and annihilation,
صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ ٱلأَتْقِيَاءِ
salli `ala muhammadin wa alihi al-atqiya'i
(please) bless Muhammad and his household, the god-fearing,
وَٱسْمَعْ نِدَائِي وَٱسْتَجِبْ دُعَائِي
wasma` nida'i wastajib du`a'i
answer my supplication, hear my call,
وَحَقِّقْ بِفَضْلِكَ أَمَلِي وَرَجَائِي
wa haqqiq bifadlika amali wa raja'i
and actualize through Your favor my hope and desire.
يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ دُعِيَ لِكَشْفِ ٱلضُّرِّ
ya khayra man du`iya likashfi alddurri
O Best of those who are called to remove affliction
وَٱلْمَأْمُولِ فِي كُلِّ عُسْرٍ وَيُسْرٍ
walma'muli fi kulli `usrin wa yusrin
and object of hope in difficulty and ease!
بِكَ أَنزَلْتُ حَاجَتِي فَلاَ تَرُدَّنِي مِنْ سَنِيِّ مَوَاهِبِكَ خَائِباً
bika anzaltu hajati fala taruddani min saniyyi mawahibika kha'iban
I have stated my need to You; so, do not reject me despairing of Your exalted gifts.
يَا كَرِيمُ يَا كَرِيمُ يَا كَرِيمُ
ya karimu ya karimu ya karimu
O All-generous! O All-generous! O All-generous!
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina
By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!
وَصَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ خَيْرِ خَلْقِهِ
wa salla allahu `ala khayri khalqihi
May Allah bless the best of His creatures,
مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ
muhammadin wa alihi ajma`ina
Muhammad, and his entire Household!
إِلٰهِي قَلْبِي مَحْجُوبٌ
ilahi qalbi mahjubun
My God, my heart is veiled,
وَنَفْسِي مَعْيُوبٌ
wa nafsi ma`yubun
my soul is deficient,
وَعَقْلِي مَغْلُوبٌ
wa `aqli maghlubun
my intelligence is defeated,
وَهَوَائِي غَاِلبٌ
wa hawa'i ghalibun
my caprice is triumphant,
وَطَاعَتِي قَلِيلٌ
wa ta`ati qalilun
my obedience is little,
وَمَعْصِيَتِي كَثِيرٌ
wa ma`siyati kathirun
my disobedience is much,
وَلِسَانِي مُقِرٌّ بِٱلذُّنُوبِ
wa lisani muqirrun bildhdhnubi
and my tongue confesses of sinning;
فَكَيْفَ حِيلَتِي
fakayfa hilati
so, what am I to do?
يَا سَتَّارَ ٱلْعُيُوبِ
O He Who covers defects!
وَيَا عَلاَّمَ ٱلْغُيُوبِ
O He Who knows the unseen!
وَيَا كَاشِفَ ٱلْكُرُوبِ
O He Who removes troubles!
إِغْفِر ذُنُوبِي كُلَّهَا
Forgive my sins, all of them,
بِحُرْمَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
in the name of the sacredness of Muhammad and the household of Muhammad!
يَا غَفَّارُ يَا غَفَّارُ يَا غَفَّارُ
ya ghaffaru ya ghaffaru ya ghaffaru
O All-forgiver! O All-forgiver! O All-forgiver!
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا ارْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!
رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِیْ صَدْرِیْ وَ یَسِّرْ لِیْ اَمْرِیْ وَ احْلُلْ عُقْدَۃً مِّنْ لِسَانِیْ یَفْقَہُوْا قَوْلِیْ وَ ارْجِعْنِیْ اِلٰی اَحْسَنِ الْاَحْوَالِ وَ اصْرِفْ عَنِّیْ کُلَّ اٰفَۃٍ وَ عَاہَۃٍ وَ كُلَّ بَلِیَّۃٍ بِمُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِہٖ.
Rabbish Rah Lee Sadree Wa Yassir Lee Amree Wah Lul U’qdatam Mil Lesaanee Yafqahoo Qawlee War Je’nee Elaa Ahsanil Ahwaale Was Rif A’nnee Kulla Aafatin Wa A’ahatin Wa Kulla Baliyyatin Be-Mohammadinw Wa Aalehi
. O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, and make my affair easy to me, and loose the knot from my tongue, (That) they may understand my word; and return me to the best of conditions, turn away from me every vice, defect and all misfortunes by Muhammad and his family.
اِلٰہِیْ قَلْبِیْ مَحْجُوْبٌ وَ عَقْلِیْ مَغْلُوْبٌ وَ نَفْسِیْ مَعْیُوْبٌ وَ ہَوَآئِیْ غَالِبٌ وَ طَاعَتِیْ قَلِیْلَۃٌ وَ مَعْصِیَتِیْ کَثِیْرٌ وَ لِسَانِیْ مُقِرٌّ بِالذُّنُوْبِ وَ مُعْتَرِفٌ بِالْعُیُوْبِ فَمَا حِیْلَتِیْ یَا عَلَّامَ الْغُیُوْبِ يَا سَتَّارَ الْعُیُوْبِ وَ یَا غَفَّارَ الذُّنُوْبُ اِغْفِرْ لِيْ ذُنُوْبِیْ کُلَّہَا یَا غَفَّارُ وَ اسْتُرْ عَلَيَّ يَا سَتَّارُ بِمُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ الْاَطْهَارِ بِرَحْمَتِکَ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ.
Elaahee Qalbee Mahjoobun Wa A’qlee Maghloobun Wa Nafsee Ma’yoobun Wa Hawaaa-Ee Ghaalebun Wa Taa-A’tee Qaleelatun Wa Ma’seyatee Kaseerun Wa Lesaanee Moqirrun Biz-Zonoobe Wa Mo’tarefun Bil-O’yoobe Famaa Heelatee Yaa A’llaamal Ghoyoobe Yaa Sattaaral O’yoobe Wa Yaa Ghaffaaraz Zonoobe Ighfir Lee Zonoobee Kullahaa Yaa Ghaffaaro Was Tur A’layya Yaa Sattaaro Be-Mohammadin Wa Aalehil Athaare Be-Rahmateka Yaa Arhamar Raahemeen.
My God! My heart is veiled, my intelligence is defeated, my soul is deficient, my caprice is triumphant, my obedience is little, my disobedience is much and my tongue acknowledges sins and confessing the defects. So what am I to do? O He Who knows the unseen! O He Who covers defects! O Forgiver of the sins! Forgive my sins, all of them, O All-Forgiver! And cover them, O Concealer! By Muhammad and his pure progeny, by Your Mercy O the most Merciful!
