Last Friday of Ramadan
Verily, anyone who says this supplication will win one of the two good things; either attaining the next Ramazan or having the forgiveness and mercy of Almighty Allah. Allamah Amili (r.a.) says: We have found in some books of supplication that one who writes the following Quranic verse on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan and keeps it in his purse or his money box, Allah the High, will cause increase and the two will not be empty of it till he keeps it. For sustenance, write:
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahir rahmanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
أَعُوذُ بِجَلالِ وَجْهِكَ الكَرِيمِ
a`udhu bijalali wajhika alkarimi
I seek the protection of the Majesty of Your Honorable Face
أَنْ يَنْقَضِيَ عَنّي شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ
an yanqadhiya `anni shahru ramadhana
against that the month of Ramadhan elapses
أَوْ يَطْلُعَ الفَجْرُ مِنْ لَيْلَتِي هذِهِ
aw yathlu`a alfajru min laylaty hadhihi
Or dawn puts an end to this night
وَلَكَ قِبَلِي تَبِعَةٌ أَوْ ذَنْبٌ تُعَذّبُنِي عَلَيْهِ.
wa laka qibaly tabi`atun aw dhanbun tu`adhdhibuny `alayhi
but there is still an offense or a sin for which I am still liable and for which You will punish me.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahir rahmanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
اللّهُمّ أَدّ عَنَّا حَقّ مَا مَضَى مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ،
allahumma addi `anna haqqa ma madha min shahri ramadhana
O Allah: (please) help us fulfill the right of the past days of the month of Ramadhan,
وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا تَقْصِيرَنَا فِيهِ
waghfir lana taqsirana fihi
And forgive us our shortcoming during it,
وَتَسَلّمْهُ مِنَّا مَقْبُولاً،
wa tasallmhu minna maqbulan
And receive it from us with acceptance,
وَلا تُؤَاخِذْنَا بِإِسْرَافِنَا عَلَى أَنْفُسِنَا،
wa la tu'akhidhna bi-israfina `ala anfusina
And do not blame us for our extravagance in our affairs,
وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنَ المَرْحُومِينَ
waj`alna mina almarhumina
And include us with those upon whom mercy is had,
وَلا تَجْعَلْنَا مِنَ المَحْرُومِينَ.
wa la taj`alna mina almahrumina
And do not include us with those deprived (of the awards of Ramadhan).
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahir rahmanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
اللّهُمّ إِنّكَ قُلْتَ فِي كِتَابِكَ المُنْزَلِ:
allahumma innaka qulta fi kitabika almunzali:
O Allah: You have said in Your revealed Book:
شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الّذِي أُنْزِلَ فِيهِ القُرْآنُ
shahru ramadhana alladhy 'unzila fihi alqur'anu
"The month of Ramadhan is that in which the Qur'an was revealed,
هُدَىً لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيّنَاتٍ مِنَ الهُدَى وَالفُرْقَانِ
hudan lilnnasi wa bayyinatin mina alhuda wal-furqani
a guidance to men and clear proofs of the guidance and the distinction."
فَعَظّمْتَ حُرْمَةَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ
fa-`azzamta hurmata shahri ramadhana
You have thus rendered great the sanctity of this month of Ramadhan,
بِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ مِنَ القُرْآنِ
bima anzalta fihi mina alqur'ani
Because You revealed the Qur'an in it,
وَخَصَصْتَهُ بِلَيْلَةِ القَدْرِ
wa khasastahu bilaylati alqadri
And You decided the Grand Night to be in this month exclusively,
وَجَعَلْتَهَا خَيْراً مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ.
wa ja`altaha khayran min alfi shahrin
And You made it better than one thousand months.
اللّهُمّ وَهذِهِ أَيَّامُ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ قَدِ انْقَضَتْ،
allahumma wa hadhihi aiyyamu shahri ramadhana qadi anqadhat
O Allah: the days of the month of Ramadhan are elapsing,
وَلَيَالِيهِ قَدْ تَصَرّمَتْ،
wa layalihi qad tasarramat
And its nights are also elapsing,
وَقَدْ صِرْتُ يَا إِلهِي مِنْهُ إِلَى مَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنّي
wa qad sirtu ya ilahy minhu ila ma anta a`lamu bihi minny
While I have become in the state that You, O my God, know better than I do,
وَأَحْصَى لِعَدَدِهِ مِنَ الخَلْقِ أَجْمَعِينَ،
wa ahsa li`adadihi mina alkhalqi ajma`ina
And You can count it more precisely than all the created beings.
فَأَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا سَأَلَكَ بِهِ مَلائِكَتُكَ المُقَرّبُونَ،
fa-as'aluka bima salaka bihi mala'ikatuka almuqarrabuna
So, I beseech You in the name of that by which Your favorite angels,
وَأَنْبِيَاؤُكَ المُرْسَلُونَ،
wa anbiya'uka almursaluna
And Your missioned Prophets,
وَعِبَادُكَ الصَّالِحُونَ
wa `ibaduka alssalihuna
And Your righteous servants have besought You,
أَنْ تُصَلّيَ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ
an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
That You may bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَأَنْ تَفُكّ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ،
wa an tafukka raqabaty mina alnnari
And You may release me from Hellfire,
وَتُدْخِلَنِي الجَنّةَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ،
wa tudkhilany aljannata birahmatika
And allow me to enter Paradise, by Your mercy,
وَأَنْ تَتَفَضّلَ عَلَيّ بِعَفْوِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ،
wa an tatafadhdhala `alayya bi`afwika wa karamika
And confer upon me with Your pardon and Your generosity,
وَتَتَقَبّلَ تَقَرّبِي،
wa tataqabbala taqarrubi
And accept my seeking of nearness to You,
وَتَسْتَجِيبَ دُعَائِي،
wa tastajiba du`a'y
And respond to my prayer,
وَتَمُنّ عَلَيّ بِالأَمْنِ يَوْمَ الخَوْفِ
wa tamunna `alayya bil-amni yawma alkhawfi
And bestow upon me with security on the Day of Dread
مِنْ كُلّ هَوْلٍ أَعْدَدْتَهُ لِيَوْمِ القِيَامَةِ.
min kulli hawlin a`dadtahu liyawmi alqiyamati
Against all the horrors that You have prepared for the Resurrection Day.
إِلهِي وَأَعُوذُ بِوَجْهِكَ الكَرِيمِ،
ilahy wa a`udhu biwajhika alkarimi
O my God: I seek the protection of Your Noble Face,
وَبِجَلالِكَ العَظِيمِ
wa bijalalika al`azimi
And Your Great Majesty,
أَنْ تَنْقَضِيَ أَيَّامُ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَلَيَالِيهِ
an tanqadhiya aiyyamu shahri ramadhana wa layalihi
Against that the days and nights of the month of Ramadhan elapse,
وَلَكَ قِبَلِي تَبِعَةٌ أَوْ ذَنْبٌ تُؤَاخِذُنِي بِهِ،
wa laka qibaly tabi`atun aw dhanbun tu'akhidhuny bihi
While there is still a sin or an offense for which You may punish me,
أَوْ خَطِيئَةٌ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَقْتَصّهَا مِنّي لَمْ تَغْفِرْهَا لِي،
aw khathyiatun turidu an taqtassaha minny lam taghfirha li
Or a wrongdoing for which You want to chastise me; and You have not yet forgiven them for me,
سَيّدِي سَيّدِي سَيّدِي،
sayyidy sayyidy sayyidi
O my Master; O my Master; O my Master;
أَسْأَلُكَ يَا لا إِلهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
as'aluka ya la ilaha illa anta
I beseech You, O He save Whom there is no god,
إِذْ لا إِلهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
idh la ilaha illa anta
Indeed, there is no god save You,
إِنْ كُنْتَ رَضِيتَ عَنّي فِي هذَا الشّهْرِ
in kunta radhita `anni fi hadha alshshahri
If You have been pleased with me in this month,
فَازْدَدْ عَنّي رِضَىً،
fazdad `anni ridhan
Then (please) increase Your satisfaction with me;
وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ رَضِيتَ عَنّي
wa in lam takun radhita `anni
And if You have not been pleased with me,
فَمِنَ الآنَ فَارْضَ عَنّي
famina al-ana fardha `anni
Then (please) be satisfied with me from this moment,
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ،
ya arhama alrrahimina
O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
يَا اللّهُ يَا أَحَدُ يَا صَمَدُ
ya allahu ya ahadu ya samadu
O Allah; O the One and Only; O the Besought of all;
يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
ya man lam yalid wa lam yulad
O He Who begets not, nor is He begotten,
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ.
wa lam yakun lahu kufwan ahadun
And none is like Him.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahir rahmanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
يَا مُلَيّنَ الحَدِيدِ لِدَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السّلامُ،
ya mulayyina alhadidi lidawuda `alayhi alssalamu
O He Who made the iron pliant for (Prophet) David, peace be upon him;
يَا كَاشِفَ الضّرّ وَالكُرَبِ العِظَامِ عَنْ أَيّوبَ عَلَيْهِ السّلامُ،
ya kashifa aldhdhurri wal-kurabi al`izami `an ayyuba `alayhi alssalamu
O He Who took off the harm and calamity that afflict (Prophet) Job, peace be upon him;
أَيْ مُفَرّجَ هَمّ يَعْقُوبَ عَلَيْهِ السّلامُ،
ay mufarrija hamm ya`quba `alayhi alssalamu
O He Who relieved the sorrow of (Prophet) Jacob, peace be upon him;
أَيْ مُنَفّسَ غَمّ يُوسُفَ عَلَيْهِ السّلامُ،
ay munaffisa ghammi yusufa `alayhi alssalamu
O He Who removed the grief of (Prophet) Joseph, peace be upon him:
صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ
salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
(Please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
كَمَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ أَنْ تُصَلّيَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ،
kama anta ahluhu an tusalliya `alayhim ajma`ina
As exactly as You are worthy of blessing them all,
وَافْعَلْ بِي مَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ،
waf`al by ma anta ahluhu
And (please) do to me that which befits You,
وَلا تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أَنَا أَهْلُهُ.
wa la taf`al by ma ana ahluhu
And do not do to me that which I deserve.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahir rahmanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah: (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاقْسِمْ لِي حِلْماً يَسُدّ عَنّي بَابَ الجَهْلِ،
waqsim li hilman yasuddu `anni baba aljahli
inculcate maturity (of thought and action) in me so that it stops me at the gate of ignorance,
وَهُدَىً تَمُنّ بِهِ عَلَيّ مِنْ كُلّ ضَلالَةٍ،
wa hudan tamunn bihi `alayya min kulli dhalalatin
help me with guidance to cut off all links with every type of waywardness;
وَغِنَىً تَسُدّ بِهِ عَنّي بَابَ كُلّ فَقْرٍ،
wa ghinan tasudd bihi `anni baba kull faqrin
let me have enough means to barricade the gaps of poverty,
وَقُوّةً تَرُدّ بِهَا عَنّي كُلّ ضَعْفٍ،
wa quwwatan tarudd biha `anni kulla dha`fin
give me strength to avert weakness;
وَعِزّاً تُكْرِمُنِي بِهِ عَنْ كُلّ ذُلّ،
wa `izzan tukrimuny bihi `an kulla dhullin
raise me to noble heights to abstain from anything low and mean,
وَرِفْعَةً تَرْفَعُنِي بِهَا عَنْ كُلّ ضَعَةٍ،
wa rif`atan tarfa`uny biha `an kulli dha`atin
let me reach higher regions to leave behind humiliation,
وَأَمْناً تَرُدّ بِهِ عَنّي كُلّ خَوْفٍ،
wa amnan tarudd bihi `anni kulla khawfin
take me to peaceful sanctuary to remain safe from all terrors;
وَعَافِيَةً تَسْتُرُنِي بِهَا عَنْ كُلّ بَلاءٍ،
wa `afiyatan tasturuny biha `an kulli bala'in
cover me with safety to shield from the impact of all calamities;
وَعِلْماً تَفْتَحُ لِي بِهِ كُلّ يَقِينٍ،
wa `ilman taftahu li bihi kulla yaqinin
open my mind with knowledge to cultivate sure belief;
وَيَقِيناً تُذْهِبُ بِهِ عَنّي كُلّ شَكّ،
wa yaqinan tudhhibu bihi `anni kulla shakkin
let me be certain of the indubitable truth to dispel all doubts;
وَدُعَاءً تَبْسُطُ لِي بِهِ الإِجَابَةَ فِي هذِهِ اللَيْلَةِ وَفِي هذِهِ السَّاعَةِ،
wa du`a'an tabsuthu li bihi al-ijabata fi hadhihi allaylati wa fi hadhihi alssa`ati
stimulate me to make use of prayer to draw Thy attention for fulfillment of my desires in this night,
السَّاعَةَ السَّاعَةَ السَّاعَةَ يَا كَرِيمُ،
alssa`ata alssa`ata alssa`ata ya karimu
(in fact) at this very moment. O Generous Giver;
وَخَوْفاً تَنْشُرُ لِي بِهِ كُلّ رَحْمَةٍ،
wa khawfan tanshuru li bihi kull rahmatin
put fear (of the consequences of breaking Thy laws) in my heart to deserve all-embracing mercy;
وَعِصْمَةً تَحُولُ بِهَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ الذّنُوبِ
wa `ismatan tahulu biha bayny wa bayna aldhdhunubi
preserve incorruptible integrity in me so that it puts a barrier between me and wrongdoing,
حَتَّى أُفْلِحَ بِهَا عِنْدَ المَعْصُومِينَ عِنْدَكَ
hatta a'ufliha biha `inda alma`sumina `indaka
till I reach the sanctuary of all (14) Infallibles, to be presented before Thee,
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.
birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina
for obtaining Thy mercy, O the Most Merciful.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahir rahmanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
يَا مُولِجَ اللّيْلِ فِي النّهَارِ،
ya mulija allayli fi alnnahari
O He Who causes the night to enter into the day,
وَمُولِجَ النّهَارِ فِي اللّيْلِ،
wa mulija alnnahari fi allayli
And causes the day to enter into the night,
وَمُخْرِجَ الحَيّ مِنَ المَيّتِ،
wa mukhrija alhayy mina almayyti
And brings forth the living from the dead,
وَمُخْرِجَ المَيّتِ مِنَ الحَيّ،
wa mukhrija almayyti mina alhayy
And brings forth the dead from the living,
يَا رَازِقَ مَنْ يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ،
ya raziqa man yasha'u bighayri hisabin
And He Who gives sustenance to whomever He please without measure:
يَا اللّهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ،
ya allahu ya rahmanu
O Allah; O the All-beneficent;
يَا اللّهُ يَا رَحِيمُ،
ya allahu ya rahimu
O Allah; O the All-merciful;
يَا اللّهُ يَا اللّهُ يَا اللّهُ
ya allahu ya allahu ya allahu
O Allah; O Allah; O Allah;
لَكَ الأَسْمَاءُ الحُسْنَى،
laka alasma'u alhusna
To You are the Most Excellent Names,
وَالأَمْثَالُ العُلْيَا،
wal-amthalu al`ulia
And the most elevated examples,
وَالكِبْرِيَاءُ وَالآلاءُ،
wal-kibrya'u wal-ala'u
And greatness and bounties.
أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلّيَ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ،
as'aluka an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
I beseech You to bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمِي فِي هذِهِ اللّيْلَةِ فِي السّعَدَاءِ،
wa an taj`ala asmy fi hadhihi allaylati fi alssu`ada'i
And to include my name with the list of the happiest ones,
وَرُوحِي مَعَ الشّهَدَاءِ،
wa ruhy ma`a alshshuhada'i
And to add my soul to the martyrs,
وَإِحْسَانِي فِي عِلّيّينَ،
wa ihsany fi `illiyyina
And record my good deeds in the most exalted rank,
وَإِسَاءَتِي مَغْفُورَةً،
wa isa'aty maghfuratan
And to decide my offense to be forgiven,
وَأَنْ تَهَبَ لِي يَقِيناً تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِي،
wa an tahaba li yaqinan tubashiru bihi qalbi
And to grant me certitude that fills in my heart,
وَإِيمَاناً يُذْهِبُ الشّكّ عَنّي،
wa 'imanan yudhhibu alshshakk `anni
And faith that removes dubiosity from me,
وَتُرْضِيَنِي بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي،
wa turdiyany bima qasamta li
And to make me feel satisfied with that which You decide for me,
وَآتِنَا فِي الدّنْيَا حَسَنَةً،
wa atina fi alddunya hasanatan
And (please) grant us reward in this world,
وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً،
wa fi alakhirati hasanatan
And reward in the Hereafter,
وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الحَرِيقِ،
wa qina `adhaba alnnari alhariqi
And save us from the torment of the burning Fire,
وَارْزُقْنِي فِيهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ وَالرّغْبَةَ إِلَيْكَ،
warzuqny fiha dhikraka wa shukraka wal-rraghbata ilayka
And confer upon us at this night Your mentioning, thanking You, and desiring for You,
وَالإِنَابَةَ وَالتَّوْفِيقَ لِمَا وَفَّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمَّداً وَآلَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلامُ.
wal-inabata wal-ttawfiqa lima waffaqta lahu muhammadan wa ala muhammadin `alayhi wa `alayhimu alssalamu
And turning to You, and success to that to which You led Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, peace be upon him and them all.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahir rahmanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
اللّهُمّ لا تَجْعَلهُ آخِرَ العَهْدِ مِنْ صِيَامِنَا إِيَّاهُ
allahumma la taj`alhu akhira al`ahdi min siyamina iyyahu
O Allah: (please) do not make it the last of our fasting in this month;
فَإِنْ جَعَلْتَهُ فَاجْعَلْنِي مَرْحُوماً وَلا تَجْعَلْنِي مَحْرُوماً.
fa-in ja`altahu faj`alny marhuman wa la taj`alny mahruman
but if You decide so, then (please) make me enjoy (Your) mercy and do not make me deprived (of it).
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُوْلٍ حَسَنٍ وَأَنْبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا الْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقًا قَالَ يَا مَرْيَمُ أَنَّىٰ لَكِ هٰذَا قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللهِ إِنَّ اللهَ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَظِيمُ.
bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem. fataqabbalahaa rabbuhaa biqabuulin hasaninw wa ambatahaa nabaatan hasananw wa kaffalahaa zakariyyaa. kullamaa dakhala `alayhaa zakariyyal mihraba wajada `indahaa rizqan. qaala yaa maryamu annaa laki haadha qaalat huwa min `indillaahi innallaaha yarzuqu man yashaa'u bighayri hisaab. sadaqallaahul `azeem.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. So her Lord accepted her with a good acceptance and made her grow up a good growing, and gave her into the charge of Zakariya; whenever Zakariya entered the sanctuary to see her, he found with her food. He said: O Maryam! Whence comes this to you? She said: It is from Allah. Surely Allah gives to whom He pleases without measure. Allah the Mighty has said the truth. [Surah Al-Imran 3:37]
