Ziyarat Muslim ibn Aqeel (as)
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلْمَلِكِ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلْمُبِينِ
alhamdu lillahi almaliki alhaqqi almubini
All praise be to Allah: the Lord and the evident Truth.
ٱلْمُتَصَاغِرِ لِعَظَمَتِهِ جَبَابِرَةُ ٱلطَّاغِينَ
almutasaghiri li`azamatihi jababiratu alttaghina
All the tyrannical oppressors are subservient to His almightiness.
ٱلْمُعْتَرِفِ بِرُبُوبِيَّتِهِ جَمِيعُ أَهْلِ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ وَٱلأَرَضِينَ
almu`tarifi birububiyyatihi jami`u ahli alssamawati wal-aradina
All the inhabitants of the heavens and the layers of the earth admit His Godhead.
ٱلْمُقِرِّ بِتَوْحِيدِهِ سَائِرُ ٱلْخَلْقِ أَجْمَعِينَ
almuqirri bitawhidihi sa'iru alkhalqi ajma`ina
All the created beings confess of His Oneness.
وَصَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ سَيِّـدِ ٱلأَنَامِ
wa salla allahu `ala sayyidi al-anami
May Allah send blessings upon the master of all created beings
وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ ٱلْكِرَامِ
wa ahli baytihi alkirami
and upon the members of his Household; the noble ones,
صَلاةً تَقَرُّ بِهَا أَعْيُنُهُمْ
salatan taqarru biha a`yunuhum
such blessings that delight them
وَيَرْغَمُ بِهَا أَنْفُ شَانِئِهِمْ
wa yarghamu biha anfu shani'ihim
and humiliate all those who antagonize them
مِنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلإِنْسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
min aljinni wal-insi ajma`ina
from all jinn and mankind.
سَلامُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَلِيِّ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
salamu allahi al`aliyyi al`azimi
Peace of Allah the All-high and All-great,
وَسَلاَمُ مَلاَئِكَتِهِ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
wa salamu mala'ikatihi almuqarrabina
and peace of His favorite angels,
وَأَنْبِيَائِهِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
wa anbiya'ihi almursalina
His missioned Prophets,
وَأَئِمَّتِهِ ٱلْمُنْتَجَبِينَ
wa a'immatihi almuntajabina
His choice Imams,
وَعِبَادِهِ ٱلصَّالِحِينَ
wa `ibadihi alssalihina
His righteous servants,
وَجَمِيعِ ٱلشُّهَدَاءِ وَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ
wa jami`i alshshuhada'i walssiddiqina
and all the martyrs and veracious ones,
وَٱلزَّاكِيَاتُ ٱلطَّيِّبَاتُ
walzzakiyatu alttayyibatu
and all blessings that are pure and delightful,
فِيمَا تَغْتَدِي وَتَرُوحُ
fima taghtadi wa taruhu
that are coming and going,
عَلَيْكَ يَا مُسْلِمُ بْنَ عَقِيلِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ
`alayka ya muslimu bna `aqili bni abi talibin
be upon you, Muslim the son of `Aqil the son of Abu-Talib.
وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu
Allah’s mercy and benedictions be upon you.
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَقَمْتَ ٱلصَّلاَةَ
ashhadu annaka aqamta alssalata
I bear witness that you performed the prayers,
وَآتَيْتَ ٱلزَّكَاةَ
wa atayta alzzakata
defrayed the zakat,
وَأَمَرْتَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ
wa amarta bilma`rufi
enjoined the right,
وَنَهَيْتَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنْكَرِ
wa nahayta `an almunkari
forbade the wrong,
وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي ٱللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ
wa jahadta fi allahi haqqa jihadihi
strove in the way of Allah in the best manner of striving,
وَقُتِلْتَ عَلَىٰ مِنْهَاجِ ٱلْمُجَاهِدِينَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ
wa qutilta `ala minhaji almujahidina fi sabilihi
and you were slain following the course of those who strive in Allah’s way
حَتَّىٰ لَقِيتَ ٱللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهُوَ عَنْكَ رَاضٍ
hatta laqita allaha `azza wa jalla wa huwa `anka radin
until you met Allah, to Whom belong all might and majesty, while He is pleased with you.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ وَفَيْتَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ
wa ashhadu annaka wafayta bi`ahdi allahi
And I bear witness that you fulfilled your covenant with Allah
وَبَذَلْتَ نَفْسَكَ فِي نُصْرَةِ حُجَّةِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنِ حُجَّتِهِ
wa badhalta nafsaka fi nusrati hujjati allahi wabni hujjatihi
and sacrificed yourself for the sake of supporting Allah’s argument and the son of Allah’s argument (namely, Imam al-Husayn)
حَتَّىٰ أَتَاكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ
hatta ataka alyaqinu
until death came upon you.
أَشْهَدُ لَكَ بِٱلتَّسْلِيمِ وَٱلْوَفَاءِ
ashhadu laka bilttaslimi walwafa'i
I bear witness that you submitted and acted loyally to him
وَٱلنَّصِيحَةِ لِخَلَفِ ٱلنَّبِيِّ ٱلْمُرْسَلِ
walnnasihati likhalafi alnnabiyyi almursali
and that you acted sincerely to the successor of the missioned Prophet,
وَٱلسِّبْطِ ٱلْمُنْتَجَبِ
walssibti almuntajabi
the select grandson (of the Prophet),
وَٱلدَّلِيلِ ٱلْعَالِمِ
walddalili al`alimi
the guide (to the right path), the knowledgeable,
وَٱلْوَصِيِّ ٱلْمُبَلِّغِ
walwasiyyi almuballighi
the Prophet’s successor, the conveyor (of his mission),
وَٱلْمَظْلُومِ ٱلْمُهْتَضَمِ
walmazlumi almuhtadami
the wronged, and the oppressed Imam.
فَجَزَاكَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْ رَسُولِهِ
fajazaka allahu `an rasulihi
May Allah reward you on behalf of His Messenger,
وَعَنْ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
wa `an amiri almu'minina
on behalf of the Commander of the Faithful,
وَعَنِ ٱلْحَسَنِ وَٱلْحُسَيْنِ
wa `an alhasani walhusayni
and on behalf of al-Hasan and al-Husayn
أَفْضَلَ ٱلْجَزَاءِ
afdala aljaza'i
with the best of rewarding
بِمَا صَبَرْتَ وَٱحْتَسَبْتَ وَأَعَنْتَ
bima sabarta wa ihtasabta wa a`anta
that befits your steadfastness, reliance (on Allah), and assistance.
فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَىٰ ٱلدَّارِ
fani`ma `uqba alddari
How excellent is the final home!
لَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ
la`ana allahu man qatalaka
May Allah curse him who slew you.
وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِكَ
wa la`ana allahu man amara biqatlika
May Allah curse him who ordered of slaying you.
وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ ظَلَمَكَ
wa la`ana allahu man zalamaka
May Allah curse him who wronged you.
وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَيْكَ
wa la`ana allahu man iftara `alayka
May Allah curse him who forged lies against you.
وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ جَهِلَ حَقَّكَ
wa la`ana allahu man jahila haqqaka
May Allah curse him who underestimated your position
وَٱسْتَخَفَّ بِحُرْمَتِكَ
wastakhaffa bihurmatika
and belittled your sanctity.
وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ بَايَعَكَ وَغَشَّكَ
wa la`ana allahu man baya`aka wa ghashshaka
May Allah curse those who cheated you after they had sworn allegiance to you,
وَخَذَلَكَ وَأَسْلَمَكَ
wa khadhalaka wa aslamaka
those who disappointed and let you down,
وَمَنْ أَلَّبَ عَلَيْكَ وَلَمْ يُعِنْكَ
wa man allaba `alayka wa lam yu`inka
and those who allied against you instead of assisting you.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ ٱلنَّارَ مَثْوَاهُمْ
alhamdu lillahi alladhi ja`ala alnnara mathwahum
All praise be to Allah Who decided Hellfire to be the eternal abode of those peoples.
وَبِئْسَ ٱلْوِرْدُ ٱلْمَوْرُودُ
wa bi'sa alwirdu almawrudu
Woeful indeed will be the place to which they are led!
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ قُتِلْتَ مَظْلُوماً
ashhadu annaka qutilta mazluman
I bear witness that you were slain wrongly
وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُنْجِزٌ لَكُمْ مَا وَعَدَكُمْ
wa anna allaha munjizun lakum ma wa`adakum
and that Allah shall fulfill His promise to you.
جِئْتُكَ زَائِراً عَارِفاً بِحَقِّكُمْ
ji'tuka za'iran `arifan bihaqqikum
As I am visiting you, I recognize your right,
مُسَلِّماً لَكُمْ
musalliman lakum
I am submissive to you,
تَابِعاً لِسُنَّتِكُمْ
tabi`an lisunnatikum
I am imitating your course,
وَنُصْرَتِي لَكُمْ مُعَدَّةٌ
wa nusrati lakum mu`addatun
and I am preparing myself for supporting you
حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَاكِمِينَ
hatta yahkuma allahu wa huwa khayru alhakimina
until Allah judges, and He is the best of judges.
فَمَعَكُمْ مَعَكُمْ
fama`akum ma`akum
So, I am always with you
لاَ مَعَ عَدُوِّكُمْ
la ma`a `aduwwikum
and I never am with your enemies.
صَلوَاتُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ
salwatu allahi `alaykum
May Allah’s peace be upon you
وَعَلَىٰ أَرْوَاحِكُمْ وَأَجْسَادِكُمْ
wa `ala arwahikum wa ajsadikum
and upon your souls and bodies
وَشَاهِدِكُمْ وَغَائِبِكُمْ
wa shahidikum wa gha'ibikum
and upon the present from you and the absent one.
وَٱلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
wa alssalamu `alaykum wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu
Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.
قَتَلَ ٱللَّهُ أُمَّةً قَتَلَتْكُمْ بِٱلأَيْدِي وَٱلأَلْسُنِ
qatala allahu ummatan qatalatkum bilaydi wal-alsuni
May Allah kill the groups that have killed you with deeds and words.
